Wah quite a journey for you. I've been living with 2.1-s for a long time now. I guess its my turn to take the first steps.

You think I could get an AVR but do without a subwoofer first? Just buy AVR and 2 satellites first. Or without the woofer it becomes pointless?

Yes you can without subwoofer at first, I started without subwoofer also but I'm using bookshlef speaker. mostly satellite speakers they come with 5.1 already.

Thanks man. Ok then this is the plan. AVR + bookshelves first since bookshelves got better bass for bigger badder explosions.

there is a way of bass beat reinforcement by position your speaker near to rear wall. the rear reflex effect is very beneficial for bookshelf without sub

I'm considering for an upgrade from my edifier m3200.
Anyone can suggest a good upgrade for better bass and more detailed sound in the rm300 region?
Not a brand slave so, any brand would do..
Thanks

Hey guys need some advice, currently using a pair of Dayton B652 connected to my Lepai LP-2020A+ Amp which is connected to my Pre-amp Little Dot MKIV SE.

Any advice on how to upgrade my speaker and amp maybe and keep my LD MKIVSE as my pre amp to save up on cash? like budget 500? maybe get a new pair of speakers first then work on the amp/

bookshelf got better bass for bigger badder explosions??? sweat.gif

it might produce more tight, clear and concise bass for music listening... but it won't be shaking your room if that is what you are looking for...

buying bookshelf first is one way of going... when you have more or enough money... you can relocate those bookshelf to become your surround or front high speakers... then get your center, main floor standers and the active sub when you have enough dough...

that, or just don't spend anything.... save until you have enough to buy the entire system... in between now and then, go and learn, look around and see what would be the most suitable for you...

there are a lot of factors when you want to invest into audio system... like room space and stuff... so, keep that in mind and don't rush into it... those are just the major components... you can easily spend a whole lot more into power conditioning, cabling and room setup...

if you are building a full blown system... i'd prefer to stay away from entry level units because before we go into features... the amount of inputs and outputs might already be a hindrance for future... but everyone gotta start somewhere right?

652 is a 6.5" cone, i dont think its insufficient in bass unless very big room.
i would suggest to change the amp. not necessary to go tube or solid state but definitely higher watt to gain the desired improvements u want.

something like integrated amp from yamaha or marantz will do fine wink.gif

Hmm thats another route to consider. I definitely am leaning to saving up to get a decent 2.1 instead of piecemeal right now.

The bookshelves will always be better than standard TV speakers.

I'm currently looking for a 2.1/2.0 speaker which looks good.I mean really good when incorporate with my setup. Sound wise, I don't think I can really tell the difference in real life. Just for casual listening to Spotify, iTunes radio and for Youtube videos only while doing work. No movies, no gaming.

The Z553 looks good and saw Sri Comp at lowyat selling for RM299 from 499 which is tempting. 299 is pushing it already , but I think i can make do. I'm on a budget here. sweat.gif

So, yes or no go? Or recommend me some other amazing looking computer speakers that won't break the bank.

Thank you.

My budget max 1.5k
For PS3 gaming bluray movie
Currently using Sound bar
Room size : tiny/small

I'm planning to upgrade my sound system after sending my Philips sound bar to factory (complaining on distortion when low key tone, eg piano Do key can hear the speaker vibrating irritating noise).

Currently i have go and tested these 2 unit 5.1 system, sound is good where the mp3 that can generate distortion on sound bar is clear on them
HTB5570DRm1200
HTD5580Rm900

Currently i prefer the HTB because got the HDMI IN and OUT, so i can HDMI switch IN the amplifer and video HDMI out to TV
or else if using HTD the only choice left is RED/WHITE cable.
Actually how much different between HDMI vs RED/WHITE AUX audio? i suppose better go full HDMI now instead try to safe now and regret later?

And it's safe to shop in lazada? i saw they sell it cheaper compare to lowyat shop

and i just go check around and saw few high end shop Sg Wang selling RM15k bookshelf speaker notworthy.gif

Those shop salesman keep recommend philips to me, but in lowyat forum seems edifier so famous? Any recommend?
