15k bookshelf is totally out of budget/ dont look at it

philips speaker is living room use. edifier is near field use.

So RCA do not fully support 5.1 sound i suppose since it only run in stereo mode?

I looking at this edifier s550, look good but i"m not a fan of sub woofer, only need clear clean speaker, Ok to go with philips?

How does Edifier C200 (2.0) compare to Edifier C3? Are they equivalent, or the c200 would be considered a downgrade / an upgrade compared to the C3?
Same question to the Edifier Spinnaker E30, how does it compare to the C3?

because edifier provides cheapest and bassiest solution for budget home theater.

if you're venturing to home theater it's a different class and also different budget range.

Edifier do work as home theater but they are best used for computer as they were designed for it.

you can try the Edifier S760D (around RM2k) which also has dolby digital and aac (as well as dolby prologic ii for stereo to 5.1 surround use)
but edifier will require an optical or coaxial digital input if you need those dolby features
ps3 supports optical though
just in case you might wanna expand your budget a little

I have not tested the C200 as I have never seen one sold here in Malaysia

but for Spinnaker vs C3
Spinnaker wins on both mids and trebles providing smoooooooooth sound
The C3 may win slightly in fuller bass because of the 8" woofer but the mids are just too dry and trebles sounded harsh.
Spinnaker is a very good music speaker but not so in movies. Yes. Vocals on the Spinnaker is good but on movies and gaming it's too noisy for spinnaker to handle at times.
C3 however works fine in an overall aspect.

thanks for clearing up my doubt, ya edifier seems got huge sub woofer and desktop oriented which is not really my type
seems i will proceed with philips, samsung, sony home theater then since can still get them around 1.5 k

and my current setup is all multimedia electronic units put outside my bedroom, so only need 1 long HDMI cable to my bedroom TV to avoid messy cabling and electronic radiation in my bedroom, enjoy ps3, movie, pc with all in elctronic runnning wireless/bluetooth as much as possible

i need speakers mainly for movies and gaming , and music a lil bit. Base on what ive heard on 2.1 speaker , z623<armagedon a7<c3 , I love bass but on the z623 i cant control both bass and treble , on the armagedon i can control both , on c3 i dint find it as i was playing with the volume. So is it worth the penny on z623?

Last but not least , z906, i dint set on max volume as it too loud for me but it seems nice, but overexpensive , do u guys know whether c6xd (5.1) is good or corsair sp2500(2.1)? i am gonna check again tomorrow and buy . Thanks in advanced!

my advice is dont go surround unless you got the space and effort to tidy up the wires

Hi guys! A good recommendation for a speaker system under 600? Been looking at the edifier studio 7 and swans d1080 iv. I chose among these two because both are the style that i prefer. Any other other recommendation sifus wanna give? Gonna use them in a open room, bout 10x15 feet across. Ill be using them for 80% music listening, 20% movie watching. I game with a pair of headphones.

Hey all, any particular 2.0 bookshelfs to recommend? Budget about 2k.

Will be using it for astro and also for my record player.

Have an extra onkyo avr lying around, nr414 if my memory serves me right, will be using that. Also tv and whole setup is enclosed in a cabinet - hence need to have small footprint & size - bookshelf speaker.

Just for light entertainment in my living area, feel the stock sharp lcd tv speakers no oomph, as opposed to my av man cave setup, hehe.

After reading 40+ pages decided to back order this edifier r2700 from ideal tech. Was comparing it with Hivi but ended up with edifier as i like the idea that it comes with a remote
