Which one better for gaming and movies - Z906 or S550? and durability for long term

For a little more the Edifier S760D outperforms both

If u don't DTS and Dobly decode, u can opt for S550 encore, same RMS with S760D - 540w.

The S550 encore and S760 are the most powerful 5.1 multimedia spk In town at the moment.

Those Edifiers uses passive radiator design (for bass) instead of the tuned port design found on the Bose Companion 2 Series II. Since you've mentioned mentioned the word "aesthetically", those Edifier models came into thought... icon_idea.gif

Too big of a budget range there but if you have the desk space then I would recommend either Edifier Studio 7 (a.k.a Edifier R2700, highly recommended), Edifier Studio 8 (a.k.a Edifier R2800), Klipsch Promedia 2.1 (2.1 speaker system), HiVi Swans M10 (also 2.1 speaker system) or HiVi Swans M50W (also another 2.1 speaker system). As always, do audition/test them before buying...  hmm.gif

Oops, just realized that you replied me here. Thanks for taking the time with your recommendations. Really appreciate it. If only here in the USA we have brick-and-mortar stores where you can test a wide range of speakers, very few 'Lowyat' style stores to speak of. I've actually had the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 before, but I sold it to a friend. I'm somewhat tempted to try the Edifiers now. brows.gif

not sure if its the right place to ask? I'm faustrated with my car(father's car?) toyota altis 03 stock speakers.. their speakers, especially the one at the front door, sounds like a thick plastic covering it since my last car(98 altis), my friend's father is driving the new altis and he says the sound quality still like that.
i'm looking for tweeter and the speaker at the front door, 4 speakers at total. the reason i ask here is because those automative store here always sell overpriced speakers, when my father bought me a wira he installed a pair of rm600 twitters and it doesn't sounds very awesome. if i add RM100 for harmon kardon(imagine) it will be heaven in my car. my budget only rm300 for 4 speaker units could top up more if it worth the money. i don't want boom boom at all only want clarity. thanks

here you go~
^a proper place for car audio

your tweets may not sound good due to the caps used~ (or passive high pass filters)

I don't know much about car audio but I just changed the stock tweets sound by adding a 2.2uf 100v cap in series with my tweeter to smooth out the plastic sounding trebles

We will bring in Edifier car audio very soon.
Not sure whether you can get any info by Google yet because it only available in China at the moment.

Won't go for Aego again. I just want a good overall sounding speaker. For pc but that's my main entertainment center. Music all genres and movies. Don't want 5.1 was looking at Aego r2700. What do u guys think or do you have other suggestions? Only problem is the speakers are big but I am willing to use them if the sound is great. Thanks going to buy today so all help is appreciated

Guys, I need help.. I bought Logitech Z623 6 many months ago, but I didn't like it.
Previously I use Altec Lansing v4121 and love the kicking bass, more dense.
After my Altec Lansing broken, I want to buy the new speaker again, later I found about THX speaker, so I bought the Logitech one. But strangely, although the price is twice but I didn't like it.. Mainly of the bass. I don't really like the bass it produce. I prefer the bass on my Altec Lansing. Why guys..
As addition, I relly love music like Skrillex, techno, dance, remix etc.
Sorry guys if I didn't use the correct term becoz I really don't in this audio stuff..
So guys, can you help me what the different between the bass on altec lansing and the logitech, base on this two specific models..

I guess "tighter bass" is the term for it, my friend said like "padu" you know..
For now I am considering to sell my Logitech Z623 and get the Edifier instead, budget around rm500, a little bit more also can..
Plus shipping budget is rm550.. Which Edifier you recommend?

Edifier C3 was always a comparison with the VS4121 in the past

But Edifier recently launched their new C3X (never tested it yet)

I liked the C3
But for an ex VS4121 user you might need to bump the bass up with a soundcard/dac (I used T-Muso PCM2704 from SlevinSent to boost the bass)

The Edifier Studio 6 is within your budget if you don't mind 2.0 stereo bookshelves (It takes up table space but it's worth it)

or boost your budget a little for the Studio 7

or go crazy for Studio 8 (my personal favorite in this studio range)

Studio 7 is very musical based speaker

C3 is a better overall usage.

I'd get the Studio 7 for the optical audio option

but if it's any better then that's up to your ears to judge. rolleyes.gif
