My budget max 1.5k
For PS3 gaming bluray movie
Currently using Sound bar
Room size : tiny/small

I'm planning to upgrade my sound system after sending my Philips sound bar to factory (complaining on distortion when low key tone, eg piano Do key can hear the speaker vibrating irritating noise).

Currently i have go and tested these 2 unit 5.1 system, sound is good where the mp3 that can generate distortion on sound bar is clear on them
HTB5570DRm1200
HTD5580Rm900

Currently i prefer the HTB because got the HDMI IN and OUT, so i can HDMI switch IN the amplifer and video HDMI out to TV
or else if using HTD the only choice left is RED/WHITE cable.
Actually how much different between HDMI vs RED/WHITE AUX audio? i suppose better go full HDMI now instead try to safe now and regret later?

And it's safe to shop in lazada? i saw they sell it cheaper compare to lowyat shop

and i just go check around and saw few high end shop Sg Wang selling RM15k bookshelf speaker notworthy.gif

Those shop salesman keep recommend philips to me, but in lowyat forum seems edifier so famous? Any recommend?

HDMI got dolby and dts surround.
RCA red and white only got left & right sound

So RCA do not fully support 5.1 sound i suppose since it only run in stereo mode?

I looking at this edifier s550, look good but i"m not a fan of sub woofer, only need clear clean speaker, Ok to go with philips?

lazada got mixed feedback, depend on the seller behind.

15k bookshelf is totally out of budget/ dont look at it

philips speaker is living room use. edifier is near field use.

near field use?
I still wondering why gaming people stick if edifier

I usually lying on bed gaming ps3 watch bluray so desktop type sound system is not for me, prefer stand or wall mount

because edifier provides cheapest and bassiest solution for budget home theater. laugh.gif

if you're venturing to home theater it's a different class and also different budget range.

Edifier do work as home theater but they are best used for computer as they were designed for it.

you can try the Edifier S760D (around RM2k) which also has dolby digital and aac (as well as dolby prologic ii for stereo to 5.1 surround use)
but edifier will require an optical or coaxial digital input if you need those dolby features wink.gif
ps3 supports optical though icon_idea.gif
just in case you might wanna expand your budget a little tongue.gif brows.gif
thanks for clearing up my doubt, ya edifier seems got huge sub woofer and desktop oriented which is not really my type
seems i will proceed with philips, samsung, sony home theater then since can still get them around 1.5 k

and my current setup is all multimedia electronic units put outside my bedroom, so only need 1 long HDMI cable to my bedroom TV to avoid messy cabling and electronic radiation in my bedroom, enjoy ps3, movie, pc with all in elctronic runnning wireless/bluetooth as much as possible
