Studio 7 is very musical based speaker

C3 is a better overall usage.

I'd get the Studio 7 for the optical audio option

but if it's any better then that's up to your ears to judge. rolleyes.gif

Yah, for the best, we really have to try ourselves. But for my case, that's not really a choice.. I live far away here.. Just do shipping.. Just can ask like this.. so sad sad.gif .. haha
like right now, using the Logitech Z623 and not really liking it. I bought it becoz of the THX. The performance are good in movies, but not so in music..
I love listening to techno, dance-music, also music like Skrillex and other remix song..
I still remember the 1st day I got this Logitech speaker. From the moment I test it, I ask myself, where's the bass? Did I forget to plug it, or is it broken?
Coming from Altec Lansing speaker really says something..
That's how my first impression of the speaker.. Really not my style.. But it really perform well when watching the movies like transformer, but of course
I have to turn the volume quite high to fell it.. biggrin.gif
And I wanna ask, what the different between Studio 7and 8. Are they both good for my type of musics?

Studio 7 had a fast bass sound compared to Studio 8 due to the woofer size

Studio 8 is also good in music but it's better off playing with movie and games for its slower boomier bass

they are both good for your genre (majority would choose the bassier beast which is the Studio 8 but you like a tight sound so... Studio 7 might be your option)

You can also consider Edifier S530D if you can afford Studio 8. laugh.gif

Hi guys,

I've always been a little picky about my audio but never really bothered with sound systems. I usually just buy whatever is better than standard pc or tv speakers that sound good. Truth is I'm completely at loss about audio equipment.

However, I've reached a point where I have a nice TV in the living room and multiple input devices. 1 ps3, 1 DVD player and 1 network/usb player. The USB/network player also streams music (usually classical but occasionally electronica as well) via paid spotify. I've been getting along with the standard TV speakers but now I want to pipe the sound from each device into a nicer system. I have 0 audio equipment. Starting from scratch.

So what do I need to purchase to get all the sound input devices consolidated? Preferably entry level because all the equipment sounds expensive hahah. Any help would be much appreciated.

How much you're willing to pay for this setup? hmm.gif
I can only think of Edifier S series like the S530D for the cheapest possible setup and S760D for a full setup

From your statement you seem to have 3 to 4 source (including your tv)
I think it's also possible for the R2700 and R2800 to fit your setup

or

if your tv is able to pick ALL inputs and one output to speaker that would be simple too

Edifier P3060 if you can find a cheap source to buy it
The Edifier M3400 and E3100 is no longer in production but if you can still find it then go for it wink.gif

Hmm... thanks for pointing me in a direction. Was pretty lost. I forgot to mention that I don't have much place for satellites so a 2.1 or soundbar (maybe) might be good?

Thanks man. I guess I'll start looking around. 1k just for AVR is a little pricey though. The S530D is around the same price right?

No problem.

I don't really know about multimedia speaker nowadays.

AVR with a set of 5.1 satellite speaker system, a bit pricey but it solve all your problem.

s530d market price about 700.
u have to manually connect the speaker input signal in between devices.

AVR will simplify them as a central unit that use remote control all. higher price but more convenience functions like network play and control. a bit different sound tuning (towards movie type)

passive woofer cannot be used.

actually u aim for maximum music usage or mix with movie?
i only recommend avr for mix usage. integrated amp produces much more quality at the expense of surround effects.

u can look in mudah or hifi4sale.net for good deals. experience it first then sell off and upgrade or buy new. at least u will know what sound are u aiming for and go all in for it.
dont buta2 buy later regret like i did before sweat.gif

i start from altec and creative 2.1 computer speakers, spent numerous hundred.
after working i bought a 5.1 sat-sub component set, 2600. spent 700 for used AVR and some cables to power them up. ok and good enough

later on get some headphones which i spent the same amount as home theater above. regreted for headfi, quit and plan to sell off slowly.

recently i bought a mini cd-amp stereo receiver. price range is expected 2k new unit include speaker but WoW its like the best bang for bucks and more (go search denon dm39, ceol, marantz melody series, MCR610 reviews and u will know).
newer model has network streaming, dlna control and support lossless codec are the best features i ever wish for. i dont even need to turn on tv.

also from there i have learned power (watts) is not all about loudness...

so avr VS stereo amp, see which route u want to go. haha icon_rolleyes.gif

Wah quite a journey for you. I've been living with 2.1-s for a long time now. I guess its my turn to take the first steps.

You think I could get an AVR but do without a subwoofer first? Just buy AVR and 2 satellites first. Or without the woofer it becomes pointless?
