Let's just say they (Altec Lansing) no longer makes multimedia speakers of those quality anymore nowadays (most of their current speakers do not sound as good as before, quality has dropped quite a bit compared to yesteryears). That Altec Lansing MX5021 (along with FX6021) are considered top elites in their class range. The subwoofer is especially has very punchy bass (as it can do both "thumps" and "booms", much better than Edifier M3300SF which is mostly a thumper), which is why many owners were looking to have it repaired/restored to working state. Anyway its up to your decision whether to send for repair. As for the repair part, valid only for Klang Valley areas since I'm located in KL. Currently have quite an overload of repairs to complete, thus if anything else use the PM method for further details... QUOTE(paperboi @ Oct 3 2014, 10:04 PM)
I notice a very big difference on my R1800 TIII with ADA-305 on gaming...... more clarity and more sound, like 3D. I can hear sound which my ADA-305 didn't emit. Good for gaming but music wise I still prefer MY ADA-305. Havent try on movies though.
That R1800TIII is considered HiFi quality thus sounds are much more detailed and clearer. My guess is that the ambient bass from the subwoofer gives that Altec Lansing speaker a bit more atmosphere to the music. Movies are also where subwoofers are good at... QUOTE(paperboi @ Oct 3 2014, 10:04 PM)
Depends on what type of audio outputs are available your TV. The Edifier Studio 8 has multiple inputs ranging from analog stereo audio (RCA connectors) to digital audio (coaxial and optical SPDIF)... QUOTE(lawliet95 @ Oct 4 2014, 04:33 PM)
Should be relatively same (due to having similar satellites) although there are some differences especially when it comes to subwoofer wattage (18WRMS on the M3400 versus 16WRMS on the P3080M). Anyway, how does it sound to your ears? Is it an upgrade/improvement compared to your previous speakers? QUOTE(hown @ Oct 4 2014, 05:17 PM)
Should be Edifier M1360 for better sound quality. As for the Logitech Z213, the satellites can sound rather thin (as those drivers looks to be the same type of drivers as found in portable speaker systems)... This post has been edited by lex: Oct 4 2014, 08:56 PM
