Hello guys,I need a desktop speaker and have budget around RM800+- . May I know what is the best speaker for the range? Love to listen to music and movie. No gaming I think except mini games.
In my mind,I think of Harman kardon sound sticks, does it worth the money? How is the sound quality when compare to edifier studio 8(seemed popular in this forum)?
Those Sound Sticks may sound a little "thin" (due to its satellites) for most music. Thus you should consider Edifier Studio 8. As always, try auditioning/testing those speakers (at the showrooms or shops) and see which one suits your listening preferences...

Another thing that you can consider upgrading would be your DAC. Studio 8 is a quite decent speaker for the price. But DAC should be good as well since it's the first point providing sound signal to the speaker. It determines the quality of the sound signal that the speaker will receive.

Actually the Studio 8 already has an internal DAC that directly goes to the power amplifier (without any digital to analogue conversion actually). Thus fully digital all the way to the speakers. To use that feature, connect to the SPDIF inputs on the Edifier Studio 8 itself via either optical and/or coaxial cable. And why want to add a soundbar?

Yea, ady get alot info from Ktek bro. thanks for ur advise, will try the positioning. but it have to move my table and reset the position, so my table will look not very nice. haha. thanks+++
Quite often with big speakers facing directly in the listener's direction, especially can't really feel the bass until a distance away. Also stereo separation and imaging may not stand out if those big speakers are too close together. Thus speaker positioning may be the key...
