That Edifier R501 Mk2 is much better than the Logitech Z506, of course. Too much to mention here and besides can also check reviews such as this one:
BCCHardware: Edifier R501 Speakers - Testing and Installation:. Anyway I have worked on one of those Logitech Z506 speakers (belonging to
ammartok) during the course of my repair jobs thus that is the impression I get from those speakers. Many online reviewers (especially those on
Youtube) fail to mention those noise (and crosstalk) issues. Again, you can find the same issues I've mentioned earlier here in this IMHO much more honest review:
Techgage: Logitech Z506 5.1 Speakers Review – Test & Final Thoughts. You can also try
Google "logitech z506 noisy" and see the numerous complaints about the noise issue...

Thanks for the links, I will definitely give them a look.
I'll scratch off the Z506 speakers from my list, and I'll probably look into getting the R501 Mk2 speakers soon.
Any places you'd recommend I'd be able to find them at a good price around Subang Jaya and Petaling Jaya?
Also I have another question for you audiophiles.. As this is my first time looking into getting 5.1 speakers, I have no optimal home theater setup.
I'll probably use set them up on my desktop first, so plugging it into the motherboard's speaker jack (green) would be enough, right?
I have no sound card whatsoever, I'll just be plugging them directly into the rear jack of the motherboard, so should that be okay enough for a good experience?
Secondly, if I do hook these speakers up to a TV, all should be fine if I use the TV's audio jacks right..? I have no receiver etc
so basically I will be having a very basic setup, no extra hardware or anything alongside just the speakers themselves.
