DBS is surely ok, but why Singtel? Cut-throat telco landscape in SG, ever increasing leverage... a lot of issues with Optus management in Australia, digital banking still bleeding money... Not looking good...

One simple reply first : Divesting assets to create the value realisation divdiend. And payout is today at 70% to 90% of EBIT. Optus raised prices today, Optus court case costs have had impairment made and balance sheets is still strong. JV with NVidia to create an AI Data Centre this year,....

Singtel's underlying profit is still weak in the recent period, but the reason for this is because of non-cash reasons, and because of 'exceptional' losses.

The question now is : will Singtel be able to turn around with all these new initiatives, called the Singtel 28 ?

And secondly,... this is on a personal basis : as a dividend investor, REITs will not be as good as in the earlier days moving fwd and hence, need to find another dividend-generator.
