Is it all right if my speakers are around 2m apart from each other according to the picture?

And my subwoofer placed on the bottom right.

Or shd i place my speakers closer and the sub in the middle?

Do help happy.gif

Oh ya where do i get the speaker wires? Currently not long enough need to get them.

why ur speak not in the middle of where u seat? u should make sure left and right is almost the same distance, so get equal sound left and right.

cause gonna get a 40'' tv soon and will be mounted where my laptop is now.. will get the speakers placed around the same distance then smile.gif

The placement of subwoofer doesnt matter right? if placed against wall will it be too boomy?

And and anywhere to get the speaker stands? thought of raising the speaker to ear level.

Just upgraded from Edifier to M50W (different range of course) and its a WOW improvement in term of performance in bass and clarity, particularly clarity....

I'm using some stock/motherboard VIA HD soundcard at the moment.

Wonder if upgrading sound card will gain another level of WOW improvement? (more affordable range of course say around RM200)

Any M50W user mind sharing their view ?

Much appreciated

to tell you the truth is quite hard for me to notice the difference but it also depends on what on board soundcard you are using now.....because these speaker is not that sensitive.....its more forgiving

Very loud. But, if you intend to "blast" it, get a M200MK2 or M200MK3 or the D1080-IV. The X3 is a fine-small-speaker that sounds big and awesome but should not be "driven like a truck"

Go to aquarium shop/pet store. Get some POLYFILL to stuff the rear port. TBH, the M50W has one of the TIGHTEST sub you can get from any speakers within the same price range in the market. If you want tighter bass, you can get the H4 + H6 setup as an upgrade.

The M50W is a rather warm sounding speaker and can be paired brighter sounding sources. ESS SABRE, AKM DAC, and CR DACs are some sources that you can consider pairing the speaker with.

Nope. But we are working on our showroom, once done, you'd be able to audition almost every single pair of HiVi in a relatively controlled environment

You should place your sub on the floor. The speakers can be spaced as far apart as you want as long as you are within the golden triangle.

1. turn down the bass EQ
2. make sure it dont wobble /add floor padding.
3. use hand to feel. if port not pushing air, u already fully block the port.
take care of heat dissepation (might void warranty)

Wow. Gotta be extremely careful with the setup, if you drop the speaker I think you'd be extremely painful...

Found an old "toy" lying around, so why not? This is my setup now:
UD100 (ESS SABRE DAC) -> BBE Sonic Maximizer 264-series (just added, now I can easily tune bass/treble on the fly) -> M50W

H4 + H6 way out of my budget sad.gif I'm happy enough with the M50W for PC use, and yea... The sub is tight but just wondering whether I can improve on that without additional cost brows.gif

Tried stuffing the port with some of those sound dampening sponge, it sounds weird now like something is missing rclxub.gif

Thanks for the tips! My sub currently placed on tiled-floor right now, do you mean I need to get a carpet for it?

A soundcard does wonders if you need any of the DSP effects that comes with it.
If not, go with an external DAC.

Does depend what your budget is for a soundcard though.

my room is too small for a stand.already crowded with boxes, printers, cloth hangs

each X4 sats weighs at 4kg. i think 2 angle bars is sufficient later i try cover the gap using plywood and if 2 angle bars are not sufficient, i'll make it three then. smile.gif

pulled the trigger on the M50W the m200mkii was seriously damn good, it had excellent sound stage though it was left and right it felt like it was left right front and back of me. The vocals are very aggressive and in your face and if your using the speakers for music only than the m200mkii is best for you. The reason why i chose the M50W was because like cyntrix said it needs a lot of space, I felt like i couldn't enjoy it because my desktop is small so the M50W was the next best choice and i dont regret it at all.

just went to heavyarm to test d1010-iv, i was wow at the sound quality that it can gives at that price.. then i switch to x3, DAMN... totally different level, the point that d1010-iv did not hit was hit by x3.. d1010-iv sound abit muffled, like sound not coming out fully by the singer/instrument, but x3 is so open and clear, separation is better.. summore the bass is tighter.. 2 words after hearing x3, KENA POISON... summore bro heavyarm calculate for me EzyPay.. more tempted.. but i need to think twice.. i really like the size, it is very portable for my situation now.. i can easily bring anywhere..

thanks bro heavyarm to provide the speaker and place to audit biggrin.gif

You never really know what's good until you hear something really good.

Protip: If you don't want to kena poison with high end equipment, don't attempt to listen to it hahaha. But for me I'm ok because my memory cannot retain sound characteristic too long. So I'm fine with mid-lo fi gear because I can't really remember how hi fi setups sound.
