Hi i'm interested in getting some swans tongue.gif

Was thinking of their the m200mkii or the m50w but my question is that my computer is in the corner of my room so im afraid that if i put the sub of the m50w in the corner it will make the bass boomy.

So does the m200mkii have adequate bass for music, movies and gaming? I'm not a fan of very loud boomy bass just enough to make it sound fun is enough.

This is my desktop space and the speakers are approx 3 ft apart is it suitable for the m200mkii?

if can tell me the optimal distance I should have in Feet so i can measure xD and maybe rearrange my space later on.

if i want put it on the shelf like my current speakers also can right?

if you want to put also can but is totally a bad idea to do that the speaker is way over your head it can be said as a total wrong placement. beside your shelf have those divider which is very bad to put a speaker in it is like puting your speaker in a cave.
no the m200II don need any amp it already has a build in amp. a dac is just a converter it does not drive the speaker therefore any dac will do, is just that if you want a better sound get a better dac in terms of price is your choice and the speaker is rm729 per pair i belive

ok thanks got some some rearranging to do xD

Your place is very tight. The m200mk2 may sound a little boomy.

So should I get the m50w or place the m200mkii on my table instead?

I have an extra m3400 sub laying about would I be able to use it to fill in the lack of bass if there was any?

i own mkii ...action movie and game is awkward...try m50w is wan mix usage but nt so musical as m200mkii...plus ur set up more suitable for 2.1 configuration due to space constrained
*
Why is it awkward for game and movie?

M10 not suitable as there is no place to put the sub. The M10 sub should be on the desk
*
Than where do I put the sub for the m50w

How much space do I need for the m200mkii is it suitable for movies?

Only M10 and A532 sub need to be on the desktop. M50W sub should be on the floor. If you put it on the desk it will be overwhelming.

You need a 5ft desk with 3ft+ depth to get the M200 to sing properly.
*
Means the table can't be against the wall for the m200? Width is not a problem after some rearrangement

About 1 ft is all you need. But if you had the M200Mk3, you need more than 1 ft spacing for nearfield use. That's why we don't recommend getting the mk3 for desktop. Stick to the cheaper mk2. Bass aside, the tonal balance is very similar.

Or, just squeeze out more budget and get the X3 brows.gif

Haha mkii already the end of the end of my budget. Is mkii good enough for games and movies?

If you want to add a H sub without pairing it with a H series speaker, you should split the source out from line level. One thing you give up by doing this is that you dont have master volume control for the sub and the main speakers so you will always have non-standard sub volume with your mains.

If I wanted all round than the m50w would be better? Can I know how big the difference in quality between the m50w and the m200

I'm not planning to make my entire room shake with the bass just enough to enjoy a movie.

M50W would sound much warmer than the M200. But it'd also have deeper and punchier bass
Provided that the output is pre-amp and not a digital attenuation
Why wouldn't it be?
We haven't decided yet. Aune and Musiland are on the horizon

Can I know the advantages of the m200 over the m50w

pulled the trigger on the M50W the m200mkii was seriously damn good, it had excellent sound stage though it was left and right it felt like it was left right front and back of me. The vocals are very aggressive and in your face and if your using the speakers for music only than the m200mkii is best for you. The reason why i chose the M50W was because like cyntrix said it needs a lot of space, I felt like i couldn't enjoy it because my desktop is small so the M50W was the next best choice and i dont regret it at all.

Crack? I planning to buy a set of M50W, is it your music source is crack? How crack? Distortion when open too loud? If u got the music track can send me to test also lai_hon_wai@hotmail.com
*
like a bit static crackling at certain movies and anime, and sometimes music. No distortion just a split second crackling. My source files are usually FLAC files.

Is it always at the same location? Meaning for songs only at a specific spot in the song i.e. at the 1:30 minute mark? Else probably dirty AC?
*
yes repeated the same part over and over and only for a split second its there at that point. I sometimes get annoyed by it because i dont like crackling sounds.

If it's at the same part then most likely it's a source issue.

means the m50w cant handle that certain part.....damn...

having the same problem.....i have taken the front part of the d1080 iv and my conclusion is that these speaker sound great but their QC is not up to the standard
*
though I have yet to confirm the problem, I first thought of clipping its because when I was using my old logitech speakers it would crackle a lot at certain parts of movies or songs(which dont happen anymore) and here I am experiencing it again but instead of all over the movie its only split seconds of it. But enough to cause me to go "would that please stop" it's like a mosquito bite small and unnoticeable but it keeps begging to be scratched.

Songs maybe less or the speakers are the music is too loud to hear the crackle, it's most discernable when watching videos like tv shows and anime. When a character shouts or when they scream or when a fight ensues I start hearing the crackle.

Noted: I've watched anime and movies using my headphones and they never did have a crackle.
