Took the plunge and ordered myself a M50W as replacement for Logitech Z-2300 biggrin.gif

I'm expecting a substantial improvement for music, and hopeful that it can at least keep up with the Z-2300 in movies and games. Or am I asking too much? laugh.gif

Still haven't decided what to do with my Z2300 actually, either keep or sell... Depending on how well the M50W holds up in movies/games biggrin.gif

Just hooked up my new M50W. Wow!

Guess I was so wrong to underestimate the power of this fellow, bass level isn't even at max and I can already "feel" it (yes, I like to not just hear my bass but also feel it drool.gif ) Definitely no problem matching the power of Z-2300's 8" sub flex.gif

Gonna do more listening at louder volumes tomorrow, now neighbors sleeping liao tongue.gif

How to tighten the bass from M50W's sub? Just stuff the bass port? Need any specific material (I'm using soft foam for now) and how much I should stuff? Need some advice sweat.gif

Found an old "toy" lying around, so why not? This is my setup now:
UD100 (ESS SABRE DAC) -> BBE Sonic Maximizer 264-series (just added, now I can easily tune bass/treble on the fly) -> M50W

Go to aquarium shop/pet store. Get some POLYFILL to stuff the rear port. TBH, the M50W has one of the TIGHTEST sub you can get from any speakers within the same price range in the market. If you want tighter bass, you can get the H4 + H6 setup as an upgrade.

H4 + H6 way out of my budget sad.gif I'm happy enough with the M50W for PC use, and yea... The sub is tight but just wondering whether I can improve on that without additional cost brows.gif

Tried stuffing the port with some of those sound dampening sponge, it sounds weird now like something is missing rclxub.gif

1. turn down the bass EQ
2. make sure it dont wobble /add floor padding.
3. use hand to feel. if port not pushing air, u already fully block the port.
take care of heat dissepation (might void warranty)

Thanks for the tips! My sub currently placed on tiled-floor right now, do you mean I need to get a carpet for it?
