No idea dude. Not my area of expertise unfortunately. Can't find any news on Kelly but from the way he bent his knee, it looked like he may have torn a ligament. I'm just hoping it was a bad sprain.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Sep 24 2012, 02:51 PM) I honestly don't see why Jonjo had to apologise to Fergie. Whiskey nose claims there was no way Shelvey was going for the ball, despite winning it ahead of Evans who lunged at it with both feet. Why should anyone apologise when an idiotic statement was directed in their direction? Maybe he doesn't like watching replays. As Rafa once said, there's one rule for Alex Ferguson and his team and another rule for other managers and their team. He might as well distribute a notice to every other manager and tell them what he wants. LOL.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...mail%2BReporter His team will always be right no matter what. |

Jonjo was a one footed lunge tho. It looks 2 footed because his legs eventually had to come together at some point. Both players made a crazy lunge for the ball, but there was no malice in it.
In regards to Suso, he came as an attacking midfielder but the Academy started playing him as CM and at times even as DM to improve his overall game. The thing is he's so well-rounded that he can play in most midfield positions. Has good technique, good vision and venomous left foot. This post has been edited by hfi: Sep 24 2012, 03:01 PM |

But sadly nowadays in modern football, there's no such thing as full-blooded, crunching tackles in a 50-50 ball situation. The ref actually had a good view of it. I'm not sure how he missed Evans went in studs up as well. BR was right. If Jonjo gets a red for that, so should Evans. In regards to Suso, he came as an attacking midfielder but the Academy started playing him as CM and at times even as DM to improve his overall game. On another note, let's hope that Agger's injury isn't as bad as feared. The same goes to Kelly and Borini too. This post has been edited by 8sg9ft: Sep 24 2012, 03:07 PM |

No surprise then that McMahon vehemently disagreed that it was a red card. I watched football in the 80's when Macca was still a midfield enforcer for us. The rules have changed a lot since then, no doubt due in part to protecting the interests of sponsors who endorse teams and players. In short, if a players gets injured today, a lot of people are at risk of losing money.
Rules are rules however and in Jonjo deserved a red card, so did Evans. Simple as. |

For any other players they would have gotten the penalty but Suarez's fall was too theatrical. He was also infamous for his staged plays in front of goal and also the hand of god in WC. How can you persuade referee to give you a penalty with that kind of player profile? Had it been Gerrard who's tackled, the English pride and bias may very well give him a penalty. It was the extreme opposite for Aguero who was unwilling to fall even tackled by Koscielny. It just goes to show that you need to fall to get a penalty but do not make it too obvious that you're fishing one out, do it the professional way and not an over-dramatic fall. |

Can't find any news on Kelly but from the way he bent his knee, it looked like he may have torn a ligament. I'm just hoping it was a bad sprain. QUOTE MCL Knee Ligament Injury Explained The Medial Collateral Ligament is the knee ligament located on the inner side of the knee joint. It links the thigh bone and the shin bone. A knee ligament injury is referred to as a sprain, and this knee injury can occur if the knee is twisted or subject to force from an opponent during sport. The Medial Collateral Ligament is the large ligament on the inside of the knee that links the thigh bone and the shin bone. Damage to a ligament is referred to as a sprain, and depending on the severity of the injury it is classified as first, second or third degree: A first degree sprain is damage to only a few ligament fibres. A second degree sprain is damage to a more extensive number of ligament fibres, but the ligament remains intact. A third degree sprain is a complete rupture of the ligament. Because of the force involved in this injury other structures in the knee, such as the Meniscus (Cartilage) or the Anterior Cruciate Ligament can also be damaged. ![]() The injury is usually caused in one of two classic ways. In collision sports such as football (soccer), rugby, and American football, the Medial ligament can be damaged when an opponent applies a force (usually from their knee) to the outside aspect of the leg, just above the knee. Alternatively the Medial ligament can be damaged if the studs get caught in turf and the player tries to turn to the side, away from the planted leg. damm, the Shelvey-Evans incident is really something new to ponder about,
i know it all may have been over there nth anyone can do, but doing a couple of discussion wont do any bad i supposed as a neutral, no matter how many times i watch it, i can't conclude if its a yellow or red one minute its yellow, then its somewhat red...then back to yellow and then red, both yellow? both red? what sorcery is this..i cant brain from first glance shelvey looks like 2 footed challenge, but when look at it closely it does look like a 1 footed lunged only if there is ever a 2 footed lunge, evens challenge was definitely moar like it, both his feet eventually got off the ground and combine become a flying scissors yes Evens got the ball first, but i think Shelvey won the ball* and then unluckily went to evans leg i personally think malice is definitely not there I don't know what are the rules men it gets so complicated - Is Shelvey challenge a 2 footed? - Evans 2 footed - Evans got the ball first, but Shelvey won the ball - Shelvey right leg that won the ball unfortunately got to Evans leg if like that how? so many If's and How...but one can only suck it up and move on now tough luck for Shelvey i guess, if it wasn't for the red it would perhaps been a 1 way game. |

I think the MU players have more honor in admitting they were crap but not their fans. Their fans saw winning as marvelous and nothing else matter.Jamie Redknapp: All the decisions went against Liverpool today. Gary Neville: I agree. Even your legendary player is honorable. Follow his example. Stop coming to here and telling us about our position in the table. When you win the premier league, just remember Mark Halsey play a part for you. Be happy as a dirty champion! Sleep well. |

![]() For those who still think Shelvey who doesnt deserved the red card please see the gif above. if you see both legs are up in the air so it is dangerous. Rules are rules so get over it guys. Once both of you leg is in the air referee have the rights to send you off. As for Evan well there is nothing much we could do. If their supporter thinks is correct let it be as it is just wasting time arguing for thing that you cant change. |
