so i realised if you use the lenovo energy management software and set to high performance instead of power saver there is a significant improvement in games. realised that loading times are much much shorter and games are much smoother but laptop heats up very fast can anyone recommend a good cooler for y500 ?

hi guys got question on the usb sleep and charge port..found out that even if the laptop is SHUT DOWN, it still powers on my notepal u3 and mouse..disable or enable Always On from BIOS, no change at all..i thought only charge when laptop is set to Sleep? need more info from u, thanks...

1.after charging till 60%,it stopped and said
plugged in,but not charging
2.when in middle of typing something,

Hey guys, how do I know if i'm using the 2gb internal gpu + 2gb external gpu? When I checked Device manager, I can see both, however on one of them I can see a yellow triangle with a "!"?

Had to restart twice, but it's okay now

most of the time yellow mark Driver problem. you just reinstall the updated driver from lenovo site.
then i think can solve the problem.

1. Go to Energy Management and set the battery mode to Maximum Battery Life.
2. Common issue for Y500, still waiting to be fixed.
3. Common issue too, no other solution except you change the wireless adapter.

how much to change a wireless adapter?

No idea, but you have to take note that Lenovo has locked the wireless adapter whitelist in Y500, so far only Intel N2230 can be installed in it.

2. Try to disable the USB always on option in Bios, as it might cause keyboard problems as reported below.

btw,when officially gt650m sli release by nvidia

I doubt Nvidia will release driver specifically for GT650M SLI.
Just update to the latest 310.90 will do you well.

You can check with Devour whether stock ready. Do update us.

Local set Y500@rsp3799 are selling at 34XX by some reseller.

You can check on the box & make sure its local set Y500 before you open it.
- all local set come with 2 yrs warranty
- look for "MY" sign on the box, ie IDEAPADY500xxxxxxxxxxMY.
- make sure the spec is the same as local set as in post#1
- make sure the local set part No. stated on the box, ie Y500 part No. 59349366

Better wait for the upcoming Y500 with same spec and extra ultrabay dvd & extra 120w psu.
