but what gn175546 is offering is 655M not 650M for the external.

Just have time to really play with it.

1st impression: a Razer Blade clone! (with less than half the price of the Razer Blade), feels very solid, but not too bulky.. a bit heavy, about the same as the Alienware M15x

Got some flickering in DOTA2, maybe its my outdated driver. I'll update and make more reviews lol

Oh apparently its a general SLI problem, which faced by all the SLIs out there, so no worry about that the machine is working perfectly fine. In fact, i turned off SLI and run DOTA2 in max graphic and its smooothhhhh....

btw the latest Nvidia driver doesn't support 650M SLI, and it says I need to download the package from manufacturer (lenovo) itself, which is the same driver that comes with the machine.

How stressful is Furmark stress test??
1st day only don't dare to burn my baby

Sorry guys I'm at work right now, I'll do a Furmark Test when I get home, finger cross it won't fry my GPU

Oh btw I ran GW2 last night at full graphic setting (with SLI), FPS appears to be around 30+

Ok I've done a Furmark test with 1920x1080, 4X MSAA for 20 mins.

The CPU/GPU temperature starts to stables at 6 min mark and I let it run until 20 min before I took the screenshot.

Edit:
- No laptop cooler/fan was used when the test is running, except the ceiling fan in my room running at 2x.
- GPU-Z is showing the primary GPU 650M profile while CPUID is showing both.

I was wondering about the external GPU too but 1 thing fur sure more heat flows from the left (primary GPU).

Display adapters as requested.


Never really tested out the battery life since it was on power all the time. I'll unplug it and do some gaming tomorrow and update you guys k

I only have 4Gig but gaming experience for me its the best so far, it meets my requirement therefore I won't upgrade to 8Gig. Too be honest I prefer the overall feeling of the y500 than playing on my friend's Razer Blade, call me weird but its true.

My palm doesn't feel much heat (Blade have a focus heat spot, which annoys me) and jumping from keys to keys is pretty at ease (hardly pushed the wrong key)

I brought my machine to chill out at a nearby Starbucks, last about 2 hrs 45 mins with continuous gaming (DOTA2, GW2 in max setting, battery 'high performance' profile.

and 1 more thing, it make head turns!

Straight away unplugged my speakers and put them away in boxes.

I will still pick the y500.

Although both y500 and mac keyboards looks the same, the reason is because y500 keys are curved into the middle (if you look carefully at the pics) that fits in perfectly to your fingers during compression while mac keys are flat so it kinda feel a bit rigid and dull.
