8GB is enough haha, if you have the money to upgrade to 16GB, try saving it and upgrade to SSD instead, the performance boost will be much more significant

aha.. so games doesn't take much ram right? especially if you have 2gig gpu already (plus sli). ram mostly used when you open 30++ video tabs xD

The fps is 14 to 21 in the game?

although the cooling syst on top, but i still eager to make it more cooler
so, i put the cooler notepal u2 n tested on idle for about 20 minutes
the temp slightly affect or not at all

I only have 4Gig but gaming experience for me its the best so far, it meets my requirement therefore I won't upgrade to 8Gig. Too be honest I prefer the overall feeling of the y500 than playing on my friend's Razer Blade, call me weird but its true.

My palm doesn't feel much heat (Blade have a focus heat spot, which annoys me) and jumping from keys to keys is pretty at ease (hardly pushed the wrong key)

I brought my machine to chill out at a nearby Starbucks, last about 2 hrs 45 mins with continuous gaming (DOTA2, GW2 in max setting, battery 'high performance' profile.

and 1 more thing, it make head turns!

i have 12gb of ram..it's worth for me especially when running multi apps together
yesterday i had transf file 220gb to my ext hdd and at the same time downloading torrent and open some web on google.

so total memory if i'm not wrong more than 4gb

yup..even in idle state 1.5 gb already
most probably bcoz running on window 8
as i said depend on user la
but for me, the best min requirement is 8gb for get full media and gaming experience

Run iTunes, download update for War Z, surfing web and McAfee running background scan, after 15 minutes, laptop freeze.
