QUOTE(antt00 @ Sep 11 2012, 04:29 PM) Can use. Its the same. Just make sure the CF root kernel is exactly same code i mean all 5 of it cos ICS abit tricky. Otherwise just substitute with siyah or speedmode kernel, sure will root. err not sure if it's based on CM10. I got it from here: http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-roms/rev...jelly-bean-rom/Added on September 11, 2012, 4:30 pm What rom is revolt is it CM10 base? i tried using the dream kernel that comes with it, and also siyah v4.1 beta 6+, both also cannot be connected |

siyah kernel has a .tar version that can be flash using odin.
one of siyah kernel feature is auto root, and has its own cwm touch. so..... any unrooted non g s2, just hook up the usb, launch odin, and flash siyah kernel, BAM unrooted phone becomes rooted phone with cwm, and no data loss can this work? |

QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Sep 11 2012, 09:27 PM) Wow this is good piece of info. So all can skip CF Root & use Siyah Kernel to root. So much simpler. TS shud put this i also thought like that, cf-root is like a portal to explore the unlimited universe, after rooting with cf-root then can explore the endless beauty of android, turns out not info on the first page. |

QUOTE(antt00 @ Sep 11 2012, 09:14 PM) oh ya, true also, forgot need consider GB & ICS version.suddenly ask about rooting, because some friend ask me, he always assume i'm some sort of geek expert in phone stuff, but other then s2 non g version, totally clueless on how to root. seems every phone also got different method. hope in future google add a option to enable or disable root access in security settings, (like the one in MIUI) can solve sooooo much problem. TS shud put this my thoughts exactly, info on the first page. remember in nexus7 forum, benny say nexus toolkit is the easiest rooting method, seems not, that kit is 150MB, and need to configure the windows drive, even more hassle if using 64bit. odin + siyah just 10MB combined. total time used for downloading and rooting totally powns the nexus toolkit. s2 should be awarded the easiest, smallest file download required, no data loss and shortest step to root android device. haha bootloaded is not locked too, haha This post has been edited by mtxx: Sep 11 2012, 09:38 PM |

QUOTE(mtxx @ Sep 11 2012, 09:29 PM) oh ya, true also, forgot need consider GB & ICS version. Agree. Compare to all other android devices out there, now S2 rooting /flashing will be the most simplest ever. Having said this many including me will not want to part with it yet as long as there are custom rom developers support.suddenly ask about rooting, because some friend ask me, he always assume i'm some sort of geek expert in phone stuff, but other then s2 non g version, totally clueless on how to root. seems every phone also got different method. hope in future google add a option to enable or disable root access in security settings, (like the one in MIUI) can solve sooooo much problem. QUOTE(biosfree @ Sep 11 2012, 11:23 PM) im new....bought fr some1... That's HK set with gingerbread. Would recommend you to either factory reset through the phone, or better still, install custom rom like wanamlite.GT-I9100 version: 4.1.1 baseband: A102.V401.W11.37.SP.V1.F1 Build: Gingerbread.ZSKI3 dat only info i get from version information, i dont see kernel..., and when i play DRAG RACE...its LAG..... and i play mp4 also lagi, iv to install other player MX, BS,....also lag... and i tried *#1234# well..said..invalid MMI code...bla bla what happen...is it fake? or ..dunno...help..... What is the typical size of you guys' Nandroid backup? I think there seems to be a problem with my phone. my backups, including the blobs file, are less than 30 MB.
