My opinion, we should concentrate in unconventional oil and new frontier type.

Shale gas, CBM, tight reservoir, HPHT etc will be the new scenarios. Easy reservoirs are getting lesser and lesser. Besides these specializations get paid very well woo.
*
Best place towork in unconventional reservoir is australia. They have huge resources, government support and not enough workforce. Malaysia, we dont even have any unconventional play.
By the way, tight reservoirs and HPHT is still considered as conventional resourses (sandstone, carbonates), just alot harder to handle.

Haha... Your BOSIET holds no value after this if you don't have PTW. Carigali's platforms require PTW to board.
*
they're enforcing it at the moment..be it offshore or onshore as long as within their area.

p/s: PTW is piece of cake...all can pass

On another note,

Two workers have been killed in an accident on a drilling rig off Victoria's south-west coast.
NOPSEMA (AUS safety regulator) says they were killed during drilling from the Stena Clyde platform, about 90 kilometres off Warrnambool, on Monday morning.

The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environment Management Authority (NOPSEMA) says they were doing work for Stena Drilling, on behalf of Origin Energy, on a well in the Otway Basin in Bass Strait.

Police flew to the rig after the accident.

All work has been suspended and the well has been secured.

NOPSEMA has launched an investigation into the deaths.

Origin says there are no environmental issues as a result of the incident and gas production in the Otway Basin will not be affected.

1 Australian, 1 EU crew member, 1 killed instantly, the other died in flight to Hospital, no other information is available at this time.

Our thoughts to their families & relatives, not what we want to hear from any rig, anywhere........

To board carigali's platform, only valid OSP is required. Wanna take chopper to land via carigali's platform, what permit do i need if ptw is required? tongue.gif But if u wanna work within 500m zone (not only on platform), then u'll need all those certs n competency card. Outside this zone, if u're a contractor, ur ptw system applies smile.gif

2 cents.
