Hi guys,

I'm a recent graduate in Bac in Eng (Chemical-Gas) and i still din get any job opportunities.

Trying to do some add in value in my CV, i got 2 options:

1. Pursue my edu in Master in Engineering (Gas) which i already had the offer
2. Go for enhancement programme which will take 6 months more or less. There are some programme offered (which i think is suitable for ong ind):
i.Steam Engineer
ii.Welding Engineer
iii.Calib & Instr Tech
iv. PCN-NDT Inspector
v.Engineering operation and maintenance
vi.Vibration technology and management
vii.safety and health officer
viii.PCN welding inspection
ix.panting and corrosion inpector
x.API inspector
xi.Engineering operation and maintenance

for the first option, i think i'm gonna pass coz it will took me 1.5 to 2 years. for the second option, which course that are preferable? suggestions? Or i forget about both options and waiting for a job offer while tanam anggur? *sigh

yup LOADS!!! I'm one of them.. or just do what you do best and hang urself out there forthe fish to bite! hehe

You dun have to network with the hiring managers, just make friends and do it without a motive.. be sincere and honset. not just make friends cos you want a job. That's what networking is all about.

The company i'm currently with Hydrodive Offshore International Ltd is in need of a HSE manager. Preferbly those in senior exec position. The job is easy as pie. I've been a HSE manager and a DPa at the same time. now i'm th DPA here which is a really goyang kaki job i ain kiddin man.

Oh yeah the offer is to work in lagos, nigeria and NO its not dangerous at all man. Malaysia has had more cases of hijacking and theft offshore than here man i kid you not! anyways, rotation is 3 months on 1 month off. An annual salary so u get paid during ur time off as well. er.. they provide housing, a cook a cleaner and driver. they give you what you want once u're here to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I've actually decided to stay a bit longer on my current rotation cos i felt bad about staying on leave for 6 weeks instead of 4 but my boss said it does not matter, they company is just happy that u're back. lolx. well another 2 months to go!hehhe.

So those who are interested.. do check out hydrodive's website and apply to the website address. Oh yeah another thing, they expect you to b independant and resourceful so those who dun know how to be that way, dun even try... malaysians who wanna get in well.. good luck, cos they had a malaysian guy here who gv a bad rap to malaysians and i;m trying to fix that. so far ok lah..

rclxms.gif good one from u ICDeadPeople!

i mentioned some time ago, lot of people wanna join o&g (with the mindset don mind the low $ with burdened of jobs. or maybe the mindset already with lot $ in the mind), but never self-evaluated physically & mentally capable or not.
talk is one thing, action is another thing.

You don't ask for jobs. If your free and doesnt have any jobs, you ask whether you can help. Typically if you're new, they may not pass the whole job to you thinking you may need sometime to get a hang on it. No one wants to clean other people's crap. this is reality.

You're the 1st qs? Congrats. You have alot of learning opportunity and pioneer of the company. You get to set up the qs work instruction. Probably set your career path faster than the rest of the people. Becoming the companys 1st qs manager

Thanks for the reply.Second Upper definitely will more than 3.0,it is between 3.5 to 3.0.But it seem like still very hard to go in OnG industries compare to people with first class,is it?

1st day and dont have work, thats normal. Just make sure you make the effort to find something to do, even just reading a report.
But by the way, i admire you attitude, admit your mistake and not just blaming others. Keep it up.
