QUOTE(Miss 1 @ Dec 27 2012, 11:55 AM) Salam n hi all, You need to know what area in the O&G that you think will be suitable or fit with the experience and degree that you have. You need to tailor your CV as well so that people can relate to what you do now in construction and how that experience in construction is similar or will be useful to the job you're applying. Ask some of your friends who are already in O&G about what they do in their field of work and then once you get an idea about the scope of work the do, tailor your CV towards that. Meaning, if you do something that has to do with the environment, then O&G also has some areas where they need to comply with DOSH and Environment etc.I have this prob..I am thinking of changing my job next year. Currently im working for civil n building contractor somewhere near KL . I seriously want to jump back to oily & gassy field. Whats is the chances / what r the possible positions available for me as an environmental tech graduate? Please otai n seniors help me, tell me n guide how to make it happen, this year, been thru few interviews, but only one company is an oil&gas... the rest r all developer & civil contractors.. but still didnt make it for O&G. dpt developer ja... if someone otai can help me with my CV review..i would appreciate it, This time n year i wanna make it real, hard core effort, Good Luck. |

Hey. I'm a lady. Come join us happy berry.
In my current company it's very very normal to see female engineers. All departments. Mostly in process, instrument, electrical, structural. Most of my friends in other companies are in safety. And some in service companies in wireline, LWD, completion. Too many to name. Even the HOD of the instrument dept here is female. The GM too. Anyone with O&G Management degree from OCSI?
BBA (Hons) Oil & Gas Management Approval Code KA 9800;04/2014 Classification BBA (Hons) Subject Area Oil and Gas Management Course Mode Full Time Course Duration 3 Years Course Location UCSI University, Terengganu Campus Intakes January, May and September Programme Overview This programme is the first to be offered at the Faculty of Industrial Business, UCSI University Terengganu campus. In fact, it is also the first-of-a-kind programme in Malaysia that addresses Oil & Gas from the business administration and management perspective. Adding to the uniqueness of this three-year programme is the incorporation of three, 2-month co-operative/internship placements for each year of study. The curriculum is structured to provide students with the fundamentals of business, accounting, human resource and economics. It exposes students to both the theories and practices of this dynamic field even during the first year of the programme. The second and third years of the programme feature courses that are specifically-tailored to fit the needs of the Oil & Gas business and industries. Important topics on labour law, introduction to the oil & gas industry, international economics, marketing, strategic management, econometrics analysis as well as the essentials of quantitative systems & business applied in oil & gas have been developed by educators and field experts to provide a distinctive learning experience for students. Learning outcomes are complemented by the inclusion of an independent final year project. Programme Details The programme is offered only through full time mode of study, and designed for completion over three years. Each year is made of three semesters (two main semesters and one short semester). The two full semesters are January to April and May to August and each runs for a duration of 14 weeks. On the other hand, the short semester is broken into two sessions each of two months; September-October and November-December. During the September-October session, the student will have the option to take a light load consisting of two to three subjects. On the other hand, a student who completed 80% of a particular academic year will be eligible to enrol the co-operative placement (industrial training). Students can apply for Co-op exemption if they have working experience. Upon the completion of the programme, the graduates will receive a BBA (Hons.) specialised in (Oil & Gas Management). Would like to know the job prospects of this degree and estimated starting pay. Is it a HIGH Demand career? Easy to get a job after graduation? Thanks. Where is the best place for employment? Kerteh, Miri, or at KL? Added on December 29, 2012, 10:41 amNo one graduated from this course? This post has been edited by twins9: Dec 29 2012, 10:41 AM |

QUOTE(happy_berry @ Dec 31 2012, 02:03 PM) Engineer = Kuli You are kuli if you choose to be kuli. Nothing is easy but not everything is hard. Any people like to give their 2 cents on the link(thread) above? The whole thread scares me. So, my say, the TS doesn't know what he is doing and has no direction in what he wants to achieve. Added on December 31, 2012, 3:19 pmAs additional point, I don't mind if ppl think I am kuli or senior kuli, as long as I do my job well, deliver all my works and get my salary every month to pay my bills, I am happy already, even as a kuli.
