I need this phone for my bday. C'mon Nokia do the right thing, release it in October.
*
Even though I too hope that they release the phone in October in Malaysia, but I think it would be better if they release it in January 2013 to coincide with the launch of LTE in Malaysia. In that way, we can find out if it can really work with our LTE.

I heard the Iphone 5 can't support our LTE.

In theory, yes, it is supposed to be able to support our LTE because it has pentaband LTE support.

It's funny to note that many WP7 or would be WP8 users in here seemingly compare their current or future WP device to Samsung or Apple frequently in their post. Whereas in Apple threads, Apple fans hardly mentions Nokia or WP at all. In that sense, it seems in here, people need to justify why WP is, can and will be better than Android or iOS. Why is that? Because both are considered benchmarks ... that's the sole reason why comparisons are made.

Nokia was the king many years ago, hasn't been even till today. Despite whatever claims each users claims, only sales figures will show. Be it 920, iP5 or S3. I am still trying to figure out why some claims iP5 is unimpressive? Is it the lack of quad core? It is the lack of a bigger screen? Apple chooses to release 1 phone at a time. It has no desire to create multiple devices of various specs and screen sizes, not because it can't, but because it wants to remain unique. That's one reason as well why Android users have surpassed iOS. Simply because Androids are made available to the likes of HTC, LG, Sony and etc. Will other mobile phone makes embrace Windows soon?

I was looking forward to WP8 920, until I read the weight. Practicality must triumph over any specs for me. Unless of course I start carrying a bag. Unfortunately, over the course of my work, I need to climb uncompleted buildings under construction and can't have any heavy or huge devices in my pockets.

All in all, I am very impressed with Windows Phones though. A big and huge improvement over their previous Symbian. My last Nokia was a N97 Mini before jumping to an iP4. I wouldn't mind WP8 on an iPhone size or similar. Wishful thinking I guess.

There's hype, when people get hyped they'll try to say things like this device is so much superior than xxx, so when the hype is done, nobody remembers anything about it, so read and forget if you find it offensive in any way. biggrin.gif

Somehow I kinda prefer devices that has some weight to it, there're chances that your device could be missing or left on a table without your notice.

For me, the added weight is preferable to poor signal reception. The polycarbonate unibody of the Nokia Lumias have excellent reception, whereas the iPhone, with its aluminium case, has poor reception.

Nokia Lumia's polycarbonate unibody has a high quality and solid feel to it as well as difficult to be scratched.

It's prone to scratches, although not serious but minor. If you see it at the glimpse of light reflect on it, it's visible and heart breaking sometimes.

Of course. His construction bars / platforms can only support up to his weight + 112gram. Anything more than that, it will collapse.

I don't carry a bag nor do I like carrying a pouch. As it is, even with iPhone size, sometimes the gap between each timber support or even the temporary wooden ladder the contractor provides makes it hard for me to stretch my legs, especially with me not being tall. Thus, with a bigger width or length, it will be even harder for me to stretch. Yes, iP5 is even longer by 8mm, thus I have not decided if I want to upgrade or not. Have to see the actual unit.

As least a valid reason I can comprehend. When I read one liners like preferring heavier to lighter, it just seems more like justification. Thus, thank you for that.

Still for me, when someone says they prefer heavier, how heavy can one keep on tolerating? Imagine if Nokia comes up with something as heavy as 250g, which by comparison is about more or less the diff between a L920 and iP5, will they come out to defend the product weight again giving the same reason that it's only an additional 70g?

By rationale, most I would say would want it lighter, provided of course it doesn't mess up the reception. Maybe eventually, phone would be like those super thin concept see through glass/plastic like we see in movies (wishful thinking again in my lifetime). What will it be then? Rejecting it because it's not heavy enough?

All in all, like I said, I really like the WP8, maybe not the L920. The tiles and the OS integration with contacts, social network etc really are impressive compared to the boring iOS. I don't believe I have ridiculed Lumia users here with my initial post nor this one. Having used 3210, 8810, 8850, 5800 & N97 Mini prior to my current phone, I know how good Nokia is/was. I would be happy to hear if they are indeed making a good comeback. Good competition only spells out better products from all manufacturers. thumbup.gif
