2099 with contract is still way too high. Really2 hope it will be much cheaper than that. I want this phone so bad!

1. Most apps you can try before buy. Most apps requires you to pay but some are free
2. Rumours said end of this month but based on Nokia track record usually will take 2 to 3months

Thanks sifu. After reading abt 820 & 920, I feel my wait for wp8 was worth it.

*
Yeah poor them, unwilling beta testers for Nokia. My bro was one of them laugh.gif
I'm crazy excited abt nokia wp8, really can't wait. If pricing for 920 is too high I'll go for 820 instead.

How is 920 camera lame? It's not 808 of cz but to call it lame is not fair imo.

At first yes because they keep twisting like that I also scare. I only keep using Nokia because of the camera. But now it's getting worse and worse the tech. I prefer iOS becaus of its notification and simplify.

Just look at 920 camera is worse than a Nokia n8 camera except for OIS and floating lens.

Nokia is not famous like last time they can simply twist and turn.

Have u seen iPhone suddenly give u 8mp tomorrow become 5mp the device keeps getting better.
See s3 how sux it keep getting better.
*
Well, your photos will be missed sifu.

For me personally, I believe the floating lens and its low light abilities will better suit shaky hands like mine. Just that like I've previously said, I hope the pricing will be reasonable. Nokia pricing frighten me most of the time.

If Nokia don't focus on it means it's not a pro of the device. Let's wait for official test.

Yeah wait until berjanggut. Nokia tagline is "wait for it", wait and wait and wait.

anyone knows if any wp7 limitation will be lifted in wp8? i read an article abt wp7 limitations and they were quite a lot, normal things we could do in other OS but can't on wp7 and that was what stopping me from getting it. can't remember what the limitations were, i could only remember one, no bluetooth file transfer.

hope bluetooth file transfer is allowed in wp8, and other limitations lifted as well.

Everything is pretty much "cloud" anyway, you can upload a file to a folder and the folder gets to share with 10 or more people, cloud service is the new thing yo.

But bluetooth does come in handy sometimes.

The changes for wp7.8

QUOTE
Nokia Conversations confirms the following for WP7.8 which will appear in current Lumia devices in phases.

A new Start screen look and feel, familiar from Windows Phone 8, giving you a whole new look the moment you unlock your phone
Ringtone maker app to selected markets to create a personal ringtone
Contact share app updated to support sharing over Bluetooth in addition to SMS and email
Bluetooth file transfer to send media files via Bluetooth from your Lumia device to any other phone

So i think it's safe to say bluetooth files transfer is allowed in wp8. Good.

*
No idea.

Reading about wp7 missing features is really scary. Hope wp8 will be a giant improvement from wp7.

Now is the time for Nokia to strike back. If they are smart, they should price the L920 at an unbeatable price and the market share is all for the grabbing.
*
I'm worried that all the attention L920 is getting will make Nokia price it higher.

Then they would be a fool to do so. Looking at short term gains won't help them to survive in the long run.
*
I hope they think the way you are.

QUOTE(FastCoder @ Sep 13 2012, 02:46 PM)
When do you think the Lumia 920 will hit our shores? Dec 2012? Jan 2013?

I guess Nokia would take their sweet time to bring the new device over here, judging from past experience. I won't be surprised at all if it would only be available around March 2013.
*
They better release it by end of Oct. I wanna buy this phone for my bday.

saw this on my Flipboard this morning, kesian Microsoft employees became test subjects, if you put it that way. laugh.gif

Well, to me I think if you have a really cool product you should let your employees endorse them, it's a good marketing exposure and happy employees, win-win situation.
*
I'll gladly be their test subject.
DO u hear that microsoft?
Do u?!

It's funny to note that many WP7 or would be WP8 users in here seemingly compare their current or future WP device to Samsung or Apple frequently in their post. Whereas in Apple threads, Apple fans hardly mentions Nokia or WP at all. In that sense, it seems in here, people need to justify why WP is, can and will be better than Android or iOS. Why is that? Because both are considered benchmarks ... that's the sole reason why comparisons are made.

Nokia was the king many years ago, hasn't been even till today. Despite whatever claims each users claims, only sales figures will show. Be it 920, iP5 or S3. I am still trying to figure out why some claims iP5 is unimpressive? Is it the lack of quad core? It is the lack of a bigger screen? Apple chooses to release 1 phone at a time. It has no desire to create multiple devices of various specs and screen sizes, not because it can't, but because it wants to remain unique. That's one reason as well why Android users have surpassed iOS. Simply because Androids are made available to the likes of HTC, LG, Sony and etc. Will other mobile phone makes embrace Windows soon?

I was looking forward to WP8 920, until I read the weight. Practicality must triumph over any specs for me. Unless of course I start carrying a bag. Unfortunately, over the course of my work, I need to climb uncompleted buildings under construction and can't have any heavy or huge devices in my pockets.

All in all, I am very impressed with Windows Phones though. A big and huge improvement over their previous Symbian. My last Nokia was a N97 Mini before jumping to an iP4. I wouldn't mind WP8 on an iPhone size or similar. Wishful thinking I guess.
Well, that's one way of lying or justifying to one self  tongue.gif
*
Hmm seriously L920 weight could stop u from climbing "incomplete buildings under construction"? shocking.gif

I wish they come out with the prices for 920 & 820 already. If they screw up with 920 pricing I'll have no doubt to get 820 instead. If i go with 820, the dumbed down pureview is probably the only thing i'll miss.
