1. Lets hope thats true its very annoying everytime i need to open the app to see if there any new notification.
The next thing i like about iOS and android they finally chased up they have this window just for all kind notification similar to the Nokia N9 but on the lumia they do not have. So is heck annoying to open each app to see any new updates

2.At the moment i have just asked for fun handphone shop takes it Nokia Lumia 900 at RM800 only ask him why he said very hard to sell because not many people wants. Then there is another shop they have lots of customers but the joke they dont even sell screen protector for lumia series no casing as well.

3. Yea i had HTC One X the notification is nice. Its also on the note 2. Alot people notice that too they following blindly

4. For me i think 5.5 inch is just nice its between a phone and a tablet size. I lazy to carry so many devices out i carry my ipad 3, phones. Now i can just carry a note 2 + Nokia 808 pureview. When you have so many devices another matter comes into play many places that do not have wifi i have to share my connection and you know when you use wifi tethering on lumia the battery will die pretty fast. The issue now not the storage capacity but how the phones handle various kind of file formats.  Alot of videos cant be play on the lumia

1. Seems weird in your case. Toast Notification works just fine on my Lumia 800, be it on WiFi or 3G. Could be a hardware issue on your end, can't pinpoint now. Did you miss the notifications? Usually notifications will come in the form of a "toast", hovering above your screen for some 5 seconds, then disappear. If you've pinned your app to the start screen, it will show a 1 (or any number of notifications) on the tile. I know what you're saying about having a summary of notifications (on android, slide down from top), unfortunately, it isn't available, even in Windows 8. Microsoft's answer to notifications is live tiles. That's the future of Windows.

No, not possible on WP7. WP8 will be able to do so. It's possible on Windows 8, so WP8 should be the same.

Yeah prices should be around this price range only. If too high They're gonna lose customers. Probably a little lower for the 820. Around RM 1,399.
*
That can't be. Lumia 820 is just a 920 with an lousier(doesn't mean it is inferior) screen. And the price stated is just a tad less than 920. So logically it will be upper RM1.5k to RM 1.7k(or may be 1.8k if 920 breach the 2.1k).

Ahh, if you're talking about "some", then I know what you mean. I thought all yours messages aren't showing. Well, like I mentioned before, an app is split into 2 parts. The core and the tile. In order to update a tile, Whatsapp rely on their servers set up with Windows Push Notification service to "push" these alerts (notifications) to your phone. I'm willing to bet that this is a server issue than WP. This "push" alert is responsible for tiles updates. Sometimes, if their server is overloaded, they won't be able to push messages out. Hence you will not receive any, or receive late.

This. I hate this too. Luckily I'm not a power user. Otherwise, my there goes my bills. Let's hope WP8 changes it. Since I only have a laptop running Windows 8, I'm not able to test whether we can set "always on" WIFI or not, laptop is always on anyway. It's not too far away now, let's wait and see smile.gif

Haha, just little bit enthusiastic about what Windows and Microsoft can do and hoping that everyone sees it too. smile.gif and really hope WP8, especially Nokia is successful this time so that more development and apps can be there.

Okay so spec wise it shouldn't be much difference in price between 820 and 920. But some features that the 920 has that the 820 doesn't have is the screen, the camera, the capacity, wireless charging. Considering that and the fact that Nokia considers 920 as the high end flagship and 820 as their midrange phone thats how I estimated that price. And seems that the rumoured pricing for 920 and 820 are like that only. In europe the 920 is supposedly priced at 649 and the 820 is priced at 449. If you make direct conversion its RM 2571 and RM 1779 respectively. Obviously that won't be the price in Malaysia considering the tax and etc but I just put it up as a comparison for price between both the phones. smile.gif

Well N2 is indeed impressive especially with s-pen hovering features and multi-view, which only could be done on open source OS i guess.
So we most probably wouldn't see these awesome features on Nokia phone, and I'm quite of worry how far can Nokia differentiate themselves any longer without the rights to alter the OS..they can only wow ppl with hardware wise and squeeze in some industrial leading technology and substantially bumped up the price to cover back their r&d costs, and that will hinder ppl from buying it.

Why Android is so successful? Because it allowed manufacturers to alter the OS any ways they wanted, so despite sharing the same core OS, they are literally total different from each others (in terms of user experience) but at the same time having the advantage to share applications (that's why developers favored them = more interesting apps = attractive platform for both buyers and investors)

WP however can try to attract gamers by the way, try to put some popular pc xbox games in it then it's done

but for that very reason there is so much fragmentation with android. I feel while N2 has a lot of cool features they are mostly not necessary for the everyday user.

You know things are going to change at the end of this month and I do look forward for coming WP8/W8 news until it decides my next upgrade.

Good luck Nokia x Microsoft.

I have an itch for android phones recently. Aspire, do you have any idea which android phones out there has a good camera in your opinion? tongue.gif

inb4 this thread turns into N2 thread.
