RM2.4k for the Lumia 920 is excessive? I dont think so if we compared it to the iphone 5 32GB. Its the market price for the 32GB version of the flagship phones.

none of these nokia phones will come with the wireless charging pads out of the box right? Probably have to fork out another 100-200 for the pad as an accessory? Not worth sia.

QUOTE(LightningZERO @ Oct 12 2012, 08:04 PM) I will only consider 920 if it is below 2k, if not, I will go for SIII but the retail price of SIII is over 2k. are you trying to say that if the 920 and SIII are priced the same, you would pick the SIII over the 920 without having touched/tried the 920 and seen the full feature list of the WP8?The new Lumia will definitely not cheap..just look at its accessories! http://blog.gsmarena.com/lumia-820-and-920...icing-revealed/ i think thats unfair to Nokia and WP8. Give the phones a try. Give the OS a try. maybe its worth being priced the same as SIII and iPhone 5 or maybe it isnt. but dont go ahead and make your mind up when neither WP8 or 920 is available in the market. |

QUOTE(jonchai @ Oct 13 2012, 06:59 PM) For Windows? You'll never need to worry about ecosystem, unless you're on a Mac well they did screw up with WP7. there will always be some fear.Google's ecosystem pales in comparison against Microsoft's. Even Apple's is far behind, if ecosystem is what you care about. |

QUOTE(jonchai @ Oct 13 2012, 08:51 PM) Screw up? Not a chance. An ecosystem shouldn't only be looked at one angle. WP7 may not have picked off like it was intended to be, but an ecosystem is far more than that. screw up in the sense that WP7 phones are not upgradeable to WP8. and that ecosystem that you are talking about was not utilized in WP7. That will change in WP8. Looking forward to it.An ecosystem is comprised of many things, from cloud to home entertainment, all tightly integrated together, through your Microsoft Account (previously known as Windows Live ID). There are too many things to cover here, I'll skip. I've explained it once in one of these forums before. If I can find it, I'll update here. Otherwise, let's leave it as that At a business point of view, it'd be stupid not to pick Microsoft. Even RIM pales in comparison in the enterprise sector now, with MSFT's purchase of Yammer and partnership with Good Technologies. On top of that, there's Skype thrown into the mix, and its very own Lync & Exchange. Also, Office 365. |

but for that very reason there is so much fragmentation with android. I feel while N2 has a lot of cool features they are mostly not necessary for the everyday user.

QUOTE(benchallenger @ Nov 2 2012, 04:35 PM) Things to take note on their differences:-8X should be the cheaper phone. 920 yet to announce the price here. -8X is much lighter. You will notice the difference -920 has bigger screen and the better screen. -920 has a better camera -8X has a built in amp so I assume it has better sound. 920 will have Dolby tech though. -Nokia offers plenty of Nokia exclusive apps -8X seems have matte paint while 920 seems to me shiny and fingerprint magnet -Both phones will have Nokia drive but there is a rumor that some features will be Nokia exclusive Those are the things are can think of now. Chose your phone based on the features that are priority to you. |

just crossed my mind. If Nokia Malaysia has stock of the old lumias, they might delay launch of new lumias until these clear out.

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Nov 8 2012, 08:23 PM) What you suggested does not make good business sense. Let me tell you why, no, better that I ask you. I did not say it is a good business sense. Never say never. If everyone does everything with a good business sense, Nokia & RIM wont be where they are now. All I said that it is a possibility and I stand by it.There are other relatively superb phones in the market. You know your current models won't sell as your new and desired software would not be available for an up-grade for them. Would you still persist on selling off your stock before bringing in the new models which you also know is so hyped up and Windows 'fanboys' and even those not so into Windows before are eagerly waiting for it; and risk the chance of these people buying the other superb phones? Moreover, those who are really loyal to Windows and Nokia will in all probability source from other countries to get the phones. Won't that make you lose a slice of the pie? So, Nokia will not delay introducing the new Lumias just because they want to rid the existing stock. Period. Added on November 8, 2012, 11:24 pm QUOTE(jonchai @ Nov 8 2012, 05:27 PM) Ya, I saw that ad. Makes me wonder, if no one is buying a Lumia even with that promotion, then the chances of winning Vios would be damn high its not just buying a lumia. Buy any Nokia phone and you stand a chance to win the vios and a yamaha bike. U also stand a chance to win a lumia 610 if i am not mistakenWait, was it a Vios? or a Perodua? I cannot remember This post has been edited by prash: Nov 8 2012, 11:24 PM |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Nov 10 2012, 10:18 AM) Point is will malaysia get the lte version or all lumia 920 is lte? Like lumia 900 international version no lte and there also a lte version. I read that there are L920 sold as LTE ready devices. That means no LTE out of the box but can be enabled through software update. Like note 2 7100 is without lte Then they launch another note 2 7105 lte version |
