I have migrated from iOS to Android and thinking of moving to Windows. Whatsapp has this problem but what about Tango, Viber? Same issue? And does Windows have Wechat app? Would appreciate advice from those in the know as I use these frequently. TQ.

honestly, its very hard and of course consume so much battery..
aspire.. how about htc windows phone?
is it the same?
*
1 thing about wp over android is wp save more battery.... cause most of the apps will "offline" when ur phone screen is off.... correct me if i am wrong here...

my previous htc radar i charge for 2 times weekly only...but when i activated the screen, i will start receiving whatsapp / email ect..

You know things are going to change at the end of this month and I do look forward for coming WP8/W8 news until it decides my next upgrade.

Good luck Nokia x Microsoft.

I have an itch for android phones recently. Aspire, do you have any idea which android phones out there has a good camera in your opinion? tongue.gif

inb4 this thread turns into N2 thread.

well, good camera so far i can only suggest htc one x / s3 / note 2.... comes with 0 shutter lag ( important for me as i get use to it) galaxy nexus also not bad.

my opinion none is good. Just ordinary. But in low light it seems it perform better due to BSI . It can capture very fast but the sharpness and detail is insufficient

It's not exactly "offline", they are just suspended, using 0 resource. As soon as you switch back, it will "wake" from suspension. Hence yes, this is also why you do not need a taskkiller like you do on Android.

Further to my explanation in my previous posts about Whatsapp, paid versions are placed on higher priority, hence you get notifications on time (and never miss one, if connection is alright at your place) while free ones are placed in queue.

That's why notifications on WP relies on "push" to update tiles. There's no way you will get a real time notification in WP7. This is the trick to keep the OS smooth as silk, regardless of how many apps you have "opened" (in actual fact, suspended)

This might change in WP8, again, if it follows Windows 8 closely. Based on my knowledge, apps are now able to update itself to receive real time notifications, on one condition. You must pin your notification to your lockscreen (this is based on Windows 8). And in WP8, you're allowed to pin up to 5 (this is based on what's leaked for WP8).

Edit: Think of it this like your WP7 outlook. It is able to update itself with new mails (whether it's set to As items arrive, 15 minutes or 30 minutes). Only WP native apps are allowed in WP7, which pretty much means, only your Outlook can do that. In WP8, if I'm not mistaken, 3rd party apps will be able to do the same now. Still, you're restricted to 5 notifications.

That, I believe, is beyond what WP offers. The only thing that allows you to read without opening is toast notification, which will hover above your screen for 5 secs, and it's gone. Well, pros and cons.

Pros :

- It won't be annoying

Cons:

- Like you mentioned, cannot read real time. Once gone, it's gone. Need to open app.

Nokia is delaying the lumia 820 and 920 too long like last time similar to lumia 800 and 900. My deadline is end of this month is either GN2 or lumia 920

Whatapps on WP still not as good as android/ios.
Tango works without any issues, viber never try, Wechat can received chat message instantly without delay.

To Malaysian shores? Then Nokia will disappoint. If we're lucky enough, Nokia may just make it happen before Christmas. They'd be stupid to miss that.

Pro chatter spotted rclxms.gif

Jokes aside, I've only used Whatsapp, Line and Viber. Viber is buggy as hell, even after Nokia's republish.

I'm eyeing for HoX yet N2 is just way too tempting with their S-pen. laugh.gif

Putting Android aside, the toast notifications works good if you're constantly connected with your data plan but it drains your battery pretty fast.

I'm looking for a dumb camera, a camera that does the job instantly without have to go into the settings, tweak the levels and shoot, that just defeats the idea of dedicated shutter button for window phones. That, at least with my Lumia experience.

On the other hand, the camera+ perks that built into Lumia phones, I have to launch another app just to get the smart group shot or maybe action shots? I'm looking something that works instantly right out of my pocket.

Live tiles, they don't really work that well if you have a slow connection, the app will rain you lots of toast notifications when you launch the app. doh.gif

Nokia has a VOIP Viber, exclusively for Lumia device at the moment while other brands get the viber messenger.

after do research feel more impressed with overall note 2.

I tested iphone 5 tat day is a failure product look identical with iphone 4S. I already got iphone 4S so it seems not worthy to change to 5 for the .5 inch. Then decided to go for massive 5.5 inch screen
