Yups. U2713HM screen coating is matte but my brother prefers those heavy coated matte type of screen like the ones on U2711.
U2713HM screen coating is called light coating/semi gloss coating. Hence, too "glossy" for him...

4k monitor. mmmm...mmmmm........
i don't think there are a lot of 4k monitors out there in the market now.

i think sitting 2 feet away from any 24"/27" monitors is way too near. anything from 3 - 5 feet away should be ok i think.
when i use my 29" screen i usually sit about 4 feet away.. cos u know.... its ultra wide

Oh no....I just ordered U2713HM because I read from Dell website it is anti glare.....

Hopefully it will not be too glossy for me as well....

Nope I doubt so, 1 inch don't make much difference, unless you're playing racing game and using cockpit view.

I upgraded from 24" to 27", 3" extra but only that little bit better..

yes much diferents its ips vs tn panel.
for gaming u will love the color quality on ips monitor.

not much compared to the U series monitors, same screen panel, size but lack the swivel and height adjust function

overall a good monitor if you know not to place it near bright light sources. the glossy screen may cause eyes to strain quicker
