Not the best perofmrance, but we were no where near our shittest form. And i've seen some terrible performances mind you.

This one is a mixed bag mainly because half the players were good, a couple or were outright amazing. But the attacking 3 of Borini, Gerrard and Suarez were awful.

Gerrard showed his age today and he struggled to keep up with the other 2 CMs. Borini was easily the most frustrating player for me. Couldn't cross or beat his man. On top of that, he shied away from challenges. Hate to see that. And Suarez needs to really calm down. Today is anotehr day where he chose to over complicate things when he could play a simple plus and maintain the momentum. Instead he kept ignoring other players and kept running into other players. Frustrating.

The plus was another potent display by Allen. What a silky footballer. He made some of his teammates looked like bunch of incompetents players. I like the little cameo by Sahin - he looks like a quick thinking, quick action player. Will come in handy im sure. Sterling is the real deal. Tenacious, gutsy, skillful. He has all the right elements to make it big and like Allen, put a very good performance. And only 17 ffs.

1 point.. let in 7 goals up to now.. it sad to see my beloved team hit so low.. no wonder no one wants to sign for us.. the best player in my opinion on the field tonite didnt even get a shot on goal although he did pass the ball around beautifully..

At least he's trying. Half the time Gerard has no clue with what he's doing and he's trying to lead.

I don't see "Swansea" football style which introduce by BR in current team. Mean, our player doesn't follow what our manager instruct?

Very hard become Liverpool supporter nowadays.Better do harder next week. I always have faith with you guys.  cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif

BR was with Swansea for 2 years. We all noticed. The players still like getting high crosses into the 6 yards area when no target man is apparent. They still need time. Probably...

As if there was an alternative to the matter. What else can we do besides moaning? It's gonna be long night and sour face to work tomorrow for me.

Gerrard's prime ended alongside Rafa's and Torres' prime at Ainfield. Maybe it's time to consider a new starting XI.

didn't watch the game today (because I expected us to lose lol), but still it's funny hearing people comparing the liverpool today to the houllier days even back to the 80's. can't you people just let history stay where it is?

i bet many of you nay-sayers have rather short-term memory. after what happened under Hicks & Gillett for all those horrible years, followed by the 100m squandered by Kenny and Damien, how can anybody in their right mind expect results in such a short time?

some of you are saying 1 point out of 9 and that's bad. wtf? forgot we player against man city and arsenal? you think they're going to be a walk in the park for us? west brom has always been difficult for us since the roy hodgson days. unheard of since 1980's? u kidding me?

borini is only 21 and a new acquisition. not every buy is a Joe Allen. stop thinking that Liverpool FC magically deserves a spot in EPL top 4 and be realistic.

Carroll obviously doesn't feature in Rodger's plans and having loaned him to West Ham, we've trimmed our wage bill. Likely the reason why we've loaned him out.

How is Morgan not a prodigy? He's 18, scored 21 goals at youth level last season and has represented England at the U-17 World Cup. He certainly fits the definition of the term if you ask me.

I'm perplexed as to why you don't feel Dempsey would be a good signing? He's 29 but that's hardly retirement age. Tim Cahill was approaching his mid 30's when he was still scoring for Everton. Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs are approaching 40. Nothing wrong with having some experience in the side, especially given how little he costs, considering he's a proven goal scorer and has been the top dog in Fulham for consecutive seasons. We've been signing young players and it would have been nice to have someone with bags of Premiership experience who will get you goals. What's the downside?

My comments is more on leaving the attacking option 'thin', if the reason is due to wage bill at the expense of a thin and uncompetitive squad, then i think FSG is giving us a raw deal......

From wikipedia:
Prodigy define: A child prodigy is someone who, at an early age, develops one or more skills at a level far beyond the norm for their age. Or in another term: The term Wunderkind (from German: "wonder child") is sometimes used as a synonym for prodigy, particularly in media accounts, although this term is discouraged in scientific literature. Wunderkind also is used to recognize those who achieve success and acclaim early in their adult careers

Well, i believe Morgan's achievement is at youth level or maybe at England U-17, its definitely a good prospect or player with potential: but prodigy is the ability to perform at BPL level which fits the definition in wikipedia - skills at a level beyond the norm for their age - and neighter did he achieved acclaim early in his adult career...Owen is prodigy, probably Sterling if he can carry his performance till next season. Torres is prodigy at Ath Madrid and so is Neymar...Morgan...hmm...probably he is a prodigy by your standard but i have higher expectation, that is until he play in the 1st team!!!

As for Dempsey - if its for 7 million, i think we might as well get potential rather than unproven - dont u think? Yeah, he is somehow proven in Fulham, but Roy H was proven good there and how did he turn out? Our playing strategy by BR demands discipline in attack and defense, with a lot of running, running, and running...and tracking and tracking..@ 29, he is borderline in stamina,,,i might be wrong, again i stress i could be wrong, thats my opinion

Well at least we know if we continue to play like that for the rest of the season, Sahin most definitely won't be staying. And we can kiss Sterling & Allen goodbye because those 2 definitely deserve better teammates than what they have now.

BR is right when he say the fan is not sure about him yet and the result is not helping him.

we badly need a striker that is clinical. Suarez hv show that for all his brilliance with the ball, he is not a reliable striker. he too many tries to score 1 goal.
we didn't play bad today but Arsenal took their chance while we waste ours.

Andy Hunter ‏@AHunterGuardian
Question to Brendan Rodgers: Would you have released Andy Carroll had you known there was no replacement coming in? Answer: No.

never watch the whole match. But manage to capture some 20 mins football at kopitiam. Saw Arsenal 2nd goal.
Looks like our players are very rusty, lack of directions. I suspect we had lost the the changing room spirit. Not saying they got problem but just lack of confident.
Yes agreed that we just lack of creativity. Attack but still keep ball, no more slick passes, no more one touch, no more pass and overlap.
I just felt the changing room lack motivator. After Rafa left the whole team like being 2nd class team, no more 1st class. Even KD also not able to create the atmosphere. I suspect KD is just bit away from football when taking charge us. Thats why we lost the spirit. The Istanbul spirit is not a just simple and easy, you really need some one who can create such inner spirit to the players. Now I believe manager is important, is not just tactical is just another level. Thats why u can see why some manager can be successful, bcoz they already in the next level. You can name few......
Sorry not say RB is no good but you need the next level skill to move the team ahead. Now we even worst than Sweansea last season. Can you imagine that?

Any1 heard the commentator during the game, saying even joe allen kicking the ball up high showing how desperate liv is seeking a goal, I think its more like hoofing the ball up due to frustration. I mean he has been keeping and passing the ball neatly and suddenly he decides to hoof the ball.. Lol

Owen is a free agent so does that mean if we sign him we can straight away play him? Or do we have to wait for the jan transfer window?

I don't really buy into the thing of giving it more time, we're 3 games into the new season and the players are playing like strangers to each other. We can treat every game as an opportunity to get into the new system, the training should be able to do that and the game proper to show that. Goodness me, these are seasoned players and paid in excess of 50k or more per week to perform and they played as if they've just been promoted from the second stringers. Either the training is not doing anything more than knocking the ball around instead of how to break teams down or the players are simply not trying hard enough and needs to be bollocked big time.

Joke aside, at this very moment I have more faith in Owen than a combine Suarez and Borini to score goals.
