Essentially, from what i saw during the match against WBA, we are playing the same style, system and movement as when KD still in charge...nothing changes. BR need to walk the talk and initiate changes, which from what i saw during the match, except for personnel changes - Allen for Adam, Borrini for Kuyt..there isnt much changes made...we are still putting a forward in suarez as the striker..who is more prone to missing than putting into the net....i bet most of us would have wish Carrol at the end of 2 header chances created,,,only for suarez to put them wide!

Our midfield is not as strong as what we believe, as I think only 2 players are putting in some effort during the match - allen and lucas....gerrard is out of sort...downing is trying hard...and from what i can see he is creating nuisance on the right wing...somehow our link up play was affected by..our captain...yes....he is not providing enough support to both Borini and Downing...the hell he is the attacking midfield..Allen and Lucas are the holding midfielder....if my team is not attacking steady...i look for the attacking midfield and yes - its mr gerrard....but i dont think there will be any changes in the foreseeable future, as what Mr Gerrard said - he wont reinvent himself - so unless our captain can find the form of his life and inspire Liverpool...i personally dont see BR will ask gerrard playing on the flanks

We desperately need pacey wingers and to incorporate Carrol into team play...otherwise, we will be stuck again playing too narrow, and never exploit the flank....

Well said to some forummers...players need to be attached/set with 'goal' targets...probably something prev managers forgotten to do...having a target for defenders, full backs, wingers, DM etc etc...may actually improve our play...rather than seeing our holding midfield/flank going sideway or all the way back to Reina, haizzz,, ohh and did manage to catch MU vs Everton...and well done Everton, they attack with one touch, penetrative passes and most importantly Moyes fully exploited Fellaini, its very hard for Manure's defense to get the ball from him,.,,why cant our manager convert Carrol into someone more dangerous than Fellaini!!??? Maybe our criteria for selecting a manager to replace KD should be based on ability to work and integrate current big signing!! Need to hammer this to the Yanks.. Y put a 30million striker on the bench, but play a 11 million new signing....are we putting 30million to rot!!??? I am not championing Carrol and belittling Borrrini...but it gets kinda tired when each new Liverpool manager makes questionable decision and signings...KD's included...I am all for Suarez^ Carrol ^ Borrini formation..and I personally think Suarez and Borrini can interchange and play between the lines and in between gaps...unlike carrol, both are mobile and i am sure will find ways to get into dangerous position...whereas Carrol, from the matches that I saw, i think he is excellent with his head and good with his feet..He can play as main man or he can even drop to midfield i.e like Felaini - keep the ball and bring others in....Hope BR will exploit this, as I think we have the armor and weapon to be competitive, but somehow manage to shoot ourselves in the foot all the time....

Was having this conversation with a manic Reds supporter...and truth be told, he hardly take note of Liverpool progress anymore, saying psychological torture of almost 20 years had taken its toll, he supported Liverpool during the 80's, he saw KD lift the title as player/manager - but since the sacking of KD, he is so down, that he sort of drifted and detached...haha...probably a bit exaggerated but boy he really mentally down and is taking a rest from supporting liverpool - to concentrate on table tennis...hahaha...and interestingly he point out that, during the Torres transfer saga, Sturridge was offered as part exchange, which was rejected...and how ironic that we should pursue Sturridge now....he rightly point out that our scouting network is really sleeping...even donkeys can target better prospects than it is currently,,,and another case in point - when we received 50 million from torres....of all the 'class' players available - we sign Carrol - what happen to Hazard, Jovetic and Sahin - ohh ya..back then was buy british....too many reasons and justification and no end-result....I for one, vote to keep carrol than bringing in Sturidge, no disrespect but cant bear another period for player to adjust and gel-in with the team bla bla bla, we have carrol who is already familiar with the team for god forsaken sake, probably i am a bit cynical, but deep down, there are too many a times that we need to chop and change players - but end-up playing just as bad - and dont talk about the fighting spirit when we went down to WBA, there is none of it...i tot Villans, or even Totenham responded better with player down than us...we are simply shitty - this season and last (remember the match against Spurs)

A season of merry go round?? Again Liverpool is leaving itself short of option in attack...the trouble is, this seems to be the case season after season... KD did it last season, by allowing Aquilani on loan, and declaring our squad is strong enough...but turn out, we have one of the thinnest squad in BPL....again history repeat itself with BR...Cant fathom why letgo of AC when we are lighweight in attack...of course there was rave review of A. Morgan...but he is no prodigy, and i am really let down after dateline day....and I feel BR is also let down - he expect '1 or 2' signings...so who is the guy responsible for making sure we secure the squad...in this case...Mr Ian Ayre....no thanks to commoli, director of football is somehow overrated at Liverpool.

I opine that thanks goodness we dont get Dempsey, he is 29, doesnt fit our policy and our play structure, and for 6 million, i'd rather get a promising new face of 21 or 22 yrs old i.e someone like Assaidi, kudos BR for being consistent.

I do hope that FSG is using this season to evaluate BR, and real investment on players will come next season. We did spent an awful lot last season on awful players...and i think 30 million this season is a dipstick to check out BR and his eye for players..so far I m impress with BR's signing..if asaidi turn out like Sterling or better, then at least we have a manager with keen eyes on talent...and i cant help but feels that KD really too gung ho with some of the signings last season...its disastrous...and having seen ghost, FSG is naturally afraid of the dark

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Sep 2 2012, 12:14 AM)
Carroll obviously doesn't feature in Rodger's plans and having loaned him to West Ham, we've trimmed our wage bill. Likely the reason why we've loaned him out.

How is Morgan not a prodigy? He's 18, scored 21 goals at youth level last season and has represented England at the U-17 World Cup. He certainly fits the definition of the term if you ask me.

I'm perplexed as to why you don't feel Dempsey would be a good signing? He's 29 but that's hardly retirement age. Tim Cahill was approaching his mid 30's when he was still scoring for Everton. Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs are approaching 40. Nothing wrong with having some experience in the side, especially given how little he costs, considering he's a proven goal scorer and has been the top dog in Fulham for consecutive seasons. We've been signing young players and it would have been nice to have someone with bags of Premiership experience who will get you goals. What's the downside?

My comments is more on leaving the attacking option 'thin', if the reason is due to wage bill at the expense of a thin and uncompetitive squad, then i think FSG is giving us a raw deal......

From wikipedia:
Prodigy define: A child prodigy is someone who, at an early age, develops one or more skills at a level far beyond the norm for their age. Or in another term: The term Wunderkind (from German: "wonder child") is sometimes used as a synonym for prodigy, particularly in media accounts, although this term is discouraged in scientific literature. Wunderkind also is used to recognize those who achieve success and acclaim early in their adult careers

Well, i believe Morgan's achievement is at youth level or maybe at England U-17, its definitely a good prospect or player with potential: but prodigy is the ability to perform at BPL level which fits the definition in wikipedia - skills at a level beyond the norm for their age - and neighter did he achieved acclaim early in his adult career...Owen is prodigy, probably Sterling if he can carry his performance till next season. Torres is prodigy at Ath Madrid and so is Neymar...Morgan...hmm...probably he is a prodigy by your standard but i have higher expectation, that is until he play in the 1st team!!!

As for Dempsey - if its for 7 million, i think we might as well get potential rather than unproven - dont u think? Yeah, he is somehow proven in Fulham, but Roy H was proven good there and how did he turn out? Our playing strategy by BR demands discipline in attack and defense, with a lot of running, running, and running...and tracking and tracking..@ 29, he is borderline in stamina,,,i might be wrong, again i stress i could be wrong, thats my opinion

Nearly compel to write, SSDD - same shit different day - SSDD, but i see more positives this time, like how sterling kept going....like how desperate Allen became, like how industrious Suarez was in the game, like how Shelvey attempt to make things happen - otherwise our captain is still clueless...neither here nor there...remember how we criticizes CHarlie Adam for his less than 1 million corner, SG's corner is just as bad - SG's freekick is not measuring up, and worse not a single goal attempt, he is not protecting the back 4, and he is not offering any threat in attack....I am not blaming the problem solely on SG but he is the captain - if the squad is not performing,,,who do i look for - the captain!!

As for Borini, yes he is not effective tonight, but, he compensate it with industry, just like what Kuyt used to do...

Finally, just like previous matches, Liverpool nowadays simply lack will and determination - players kinda deflated after the 1st goal, and the 2nd goal - Skrtle dont even slide in to block!! WTF???? Reina is fully exposed for the 2nd goal....

Dropping Stevie down to holding midfield may not be the best option - this is why:

The system employed by BR is essentially moving the ball up quickly, this required the back 4 to play their part. Allen now assume the role of initiator or instigator, the person with the vision to play or hold the game, switch direction and also to have a bit of skill and ball playing instinct to open up channel - but SG is not good enuf for this role, he is taking too much time, as i said time and time again, we cannot rely on SG, and have him play the role anymore - furthermore, BR's system is based on collective movement - if it's not tiki taka, it is very familiar with Arsenal's movement during their peak - where u have at least 3-4 players moving into space - but based on current Lverpool - only Suarez, Borini or Sterling are doing it - this is also the reason why we are seeing potential, but still not able to score!! Enuf of SG being the orchestrator, he was the orchestrator last time and we are simply to slow then to move into penetrative zones....

By moving SG up the field- yes- he may not have the pace nor stamina to last full 90 min, but i feel he can compensate with shooting with both legs, power-packed shots, still effective technique, ability to volley and maybe sudden surge of movement - plus he should be ready to be taken off towards the end - to allow fresh players in....or alternatively move him to right flanks where his cross can be better use...altho without Carrol, it's a waste to have so many crosses coming in..for Suarez...
