I'm a 3 years owner for the kenari oredi and I'm willing to get some opinion (in current market la) for some minor modification & to my lil stock red Kenari bird. Any ways I can do to improve the design, driveability & handling from the stock one. Model: Kenari Aerosport 1.0M/T 2013 (the "superman" advertisement facelift i guess LOL)
1. Taillamps( i've seen some kenari-es has super cool "Audi"-like tail lamps)
2. Does the Front Strut bars from ultraracing help in its sampan-ish ride ah?
3. Necessary to replace stock air filter to after-market CAI? or exhaust system? in order to gain significant horse power to the Kei?
3. Suspensions... any idea? (i have no idea in suspension really)

Current problems fixed & solved since 2nd half of year 2016 until now:
1. Brake rotors and brake pads (front&rear) replacement for RM600
2. Battery replacement (common)
3. Engine Gasket

Problems haven't been solved until now:
1. Squeaking sound when engine is heavy load, i.e. High revving around 4k-5.5k --- Mechanic discovered that it may be the clutch problem. what's your opinion?
2. The Hissing Sound (air intake part, i guess from my ears :3) when car is accelerating at high 3k rev range(not often but when u do it u'll hear it...), sometimes in 5k rpm. --- My mechanic still cannot discover the problem yet, and so i am asking for suggestion and assistance here.

Hopefully our sifu-sifu of Kenari can drop by some suggestions. Always happy to get nice suggestions from you all. Oh ya, and not to forget, anyone has the information about the YRV K3vet Keicars and next Kenari Owners meet up? Can't wait to see the pocket rocket and nicely tuned and moded keis around Selangor.

I have my average fuel consumption of 2017 at 7.78L/100km for my Aerosport 1.0 M/T. Highest and lowest consumption are 8.415L/km and 7.223L/km respectively la. Just for reference.

rm30 can go 100km equals to 13l/100km...
it still considered as high fc, am I right?

As I have go through and read all the comments from page1, I'll try to change the spark plug and try to use BHP petrol first as this always suggested by sifus here....

Question...does add in a better grounding cable will improved the fc?

got my auto transmission replaced year 2015. rm3k all in, good labour price, in the view of workshop; expensive in another word, let's hope they've done a good job.

i've it replaced by myself actually, halfcut auto transmission, flywheel oil seal, torque converter oil seal, 2 drive shaft oil seal and a few liters of ATF. then after 10kkm, ATF filter and 3L of ATF. all in nearly rm2k without labour.

have you service the car?

15" is not the major problem, may i know what size of tire the car is running?

my Kenari auto 2006, virgin engine, exhaust is the only thing not original. full tank can go 250km at least, 330km max. full throttle whenever i drive it.

audi tail lamp, never see before, i'm interested to have a look, at least to gain some info.
strut bar won't help in sampan ride, suspension does.
intake and exhaust system won't gain significant hp for Kenari. it's more like fine tuning and everyone have different usage.

problem, come tt with us, next tt tbc.

cheers!

2. The car already have front anti-roll and rear Panhard rod... change the shocks.
- I used D2 racing (yellow) for stiffer ride.
- Check front shock mount, and change from stock elastomer to MyVi (or Alza) type with metal brace.
- Above two combination gave me pretty good downhill cornering confidence, but could be better.
3. This engine needs better engine head for HP gains. Or you can use after market 3-2-1 exhaust manifold.

RM30 if RON95 for 100km, is bad. RON97 not worth it either.
My auto used to run 28L/250~270km, that's RM30 for 127~137km, that's after a spark plug change, and aftermarket exhaust manifold. At the time, Shell was worst FC for this car, but the FC of fuel brands changes over time.
Also, look for new oxygen sensor, the thing that is attached to your exhaust manifold. If that spoils, your car will have high FC.

Hi guys,

Last Sunday, I've fillin full tank petrol at Caltec and reset the odometer to zero(0)...Yesterday, I fillin the petrol again for full tank...its cost me rm35 (15.217L) to get full tank back when odometer shows 173km...
173km/15.217L gets me 11.36km/L...
I'm quite surprise that by just changing the petrol, my birdie can get what I could call a normal FC for auto kenari...

Yesterday also, changed all the beltings (timing belt, aircond belt, etc) and service the throttle body that costs me rm270...for the throttle body, the mechanic take out the air filter and just spray some kind of lubricant to it...he say it was a throttle body cleaner...is it enough to service it just like that?

will monitor again the performance this week....

As for this birdie shoes, I'm using Alza 15' rims with 165/50/15 tyres...

yeah the fc should be about this figure.

service throttle is by spraying throttle cleaner, chemical in short. hardly anyone did it wrongly, so yea it's enough.

165/50r15 is fine, just afraid it paired with 185/55r15. because i saw Kenari/Kelisa installed complete tire and rim from Myvi which is way too far from stock size. anyway, keep an eye on the tire pressure, don't let it drop too low as you're running on thin profile.

Last Monday refill petrol for fulltank, cost me rm62 @ odometer shows 340km...
so the fc is 340km/27L...equals to 12.6km/L...pretty good for me...
hopefully can keep it up at this level... thumbup.gif

Next project, install an ICE to my birdie...
Just use an old setup from my old car...
Focal K2 Power KF speaker + Steq QM 105.4... whistling.gif whistling.gif
Since this birdie only have small space for the bonnet, will try to live without a subwoofer... sweat.gif
