apple is very smart. when they first created their first gen iphone, they must have thought to themselves, what would be the best way to get the best bang for bucks out of patenting their phone to corner the market.

They made it as rectangular as possible then made that a patent.

yes those samsung phones in question were rectangles, but how would any sane person confuse them with an iphone ?

the bottom menu buttons are different. they aren't copying that single round button, instead they had multiple buttons. and even in instances they were using a single button it was rectangular, and it had 2 more touch based buttons like the S3 for an example. Or no physical buttons like on the Nexus models 

only way people can trick people into believing it's a clone is make it the exact same heigth width, which it isn't, or make that single round button which Samsung didn't do. The samsung products aren't the same dimensions making it even less likely to confuse both products e.g. this picture below
take away the top rectangle vent, and that circle button at the bottom, what do you get ? A rectangle shaped device with rounded edges, and a big flat lcd screen covering a big portion of the device's front face. How can such a thing be patented 

i felt jb more smooth. but think not stable yet few app just close on it owns.

Front surface that isn't black.
Overall shape that isn't rectangular, or doesn't have rounded corners.
Display screens that aren't centered on the front face and have substantial lateral borders.
Non-horizontal speaker slots.
Front surfaces with substantial adornment.
No front bezel at all.



As for tablets, Apple identified a similar list of alternative designs available to Samsung:

Overall shape that isn't rectangular, or doesn't have rounded corners.
Thick frames rather than a thin rim around the front surface.
Front surface that isn't entirely flat.
Profiles that aren't thin.
Cluttered appearance.

Since Apple has won its suit agains Samsung, I wonder how the new lines of Samsung smartphones are going to be like? No longer smart?

yeah of course. i don't have a data plan, so yeah i do get charged. thats why i usually just delete MMS that i don't wanna receive (those spam mms from maxis)
