Took me a while to reply (always Gateway timed out)... ok, time to reply.
XP3 has a V shape band so the bass and high sounded high, tune down the volume should help a bit, otherwise you'll just need to tune the EQ with less treble.
XP2 is rather flat (balance) so the high won't be so sharp.
I, myself also got slightly irritated by the extreme high but I guess I got used to my AT-CK300M which has very flat treble responds, but the clarity and detail really good on the XP3, should be the reason of the high that pushes some of the detail that you usually won't notice.
I'll try to audition the XP2 again to compare it with my XP3 after 150 hour burn-in.
So I guess that XP3's high still will stay high even after long hours of burn in?XP3 has a V shape band so the bass and high sounded high, tune down the volume should help a bit, otherwise you'll just need to tune the EQ with less treble.
