Just took my XP3 unit from Jaben Penang today, auditioned XP1 and XP3, still XP3 sounds best to me. Love the solid built btw.

Looks like Jaben Penang is the only one with XP3 in stock. My XP3 also is incoming from Penang branch.

Didn't try XP1 as XP2 already too bassy for me.

About 30 hours of burn in and still quite V shape sound compared to my main gear. Sure hope it gets to a flatter U after 200 hours. But IEM doesn't need as long to fully burn in as headphones right?

I know I might get flake for saying this but currently the 30 hours burn-in xp3 doesn't sound comparatively near to Jaben's demo unit, very far from it actually.

It has been mentioned longer burn-in is needed but can longer burn-in result in 50% SQ improvement for xp3?

I guess by now my XP3 should have clocked 200 hours of burn-in with mostly vocals and classical music. Volume on normal listening, with 5 min of blank mp3 for every hour of music.

The mid and high settled in better, which is a good sign for chance for improvement with more burn-in.

The bass however I think it wouldn't change. Bass notes that are normally brief still sound like they are lengthen by 0.2 - 0.3 sec.

If I change the burn-in to bass heavy music, will it make the bass tighter?

Yeah, I'm aware also that if the maximum potential of any range have been fully gained from burning in, there's nothing else left to bring out from further burning in sessions.

Personally I have no idea how much bass gain left or how much potential gain XP3 has to start with in terms of bass. That is why I wanted to ask the other owners on their after burn-in bass response.

I'm going for the long shot. After more than a week burning in using the laptop, I decided to hook up the XP3 to an old cassette player and tune in to the radio. Going to leave it on normal listening level for 2 weeks. After that, then I'll think what to do with it.

Anyone else thinks XP3 could use a volume amplifier? When I plugged it into the cassette player and was adjusting the volume, I found it can easily output at way higher volume than my laptop and handphone.

Back couple of weeks when I received my XP3 I was worried how bad it sound compared to Jaben XP3 demo unit. Burn in is a necessity.

Still, isn't 300 hours burn-in more than enough for an IEM? The physical driver is only that small. *2cm thumb finger gap*
