QUOTE(wyntm @ Dec 4 2012, 05:07 PM) Rear aircon vent is a standard for K5. However, during the first launch of K5 back in 2011, there was an exceptional batch of about 20+ units without the rear aircon, (for some unclear reasons). The one that you test drove could be one of them. |

QUOTE(070 @ Dec 5 2012, 09:20 AM) that is test drive car ,its not the latest 2012 model k5. dont worry now all the k5 is come with rear a/c vents. year end buy k5 u get 3year free service worth RM3500 sometime , same money The free service is still not worth compared to the loss in resale value for a 2012 manufactured car. |

I wanna share this experience of mine which just happened about 6.45am this morning. I was driving from KL to Ipoh at about 150kmph and suddenly my rear tyre blew out. This wasnt a gradual loss of air. It was a total immediate blowout. My tire was torn 90% along the rim. I was in the midst of overtaking a trailer just before Gopeng (2 lanes) when it happened. I thought i was about to slam into the guardrail but luckily in a split second the Stability Control engaged and i was able to manoeuvre to safety. There was really no space for me to do a counter steer due to the close proximity of the trailer so im really lucky the stability control system engaged in time. This is my first experience with the system and i must say it worked perfectly.
But im really concerned about the Nexen tyre. I didnt go over any pothole and there was no debris on the highway. After i stopped i even walked back about 200m to check while waiting for Plus Ronda to come. They even commented that this particular tyre was very hot and they asked me to get it checked. |

Ive highlighted this issue to Kia CMD this morning. Awaiting feedback. Yes i dont have much confidence in the Nexen. Road grip is ok but if the tyre isnt strong enough then its pointless. But im not sure if its the tyre problem or not as i didnt see any debris on the highway that could have caused this blowout. But i also feel safer knowing that the Stability Control activated fast enough. |

QUOTE(nickyrox @ Dec 6 2012, 10:34 AM) Michelin Tyres Best tyre for this range is actually the Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy 2. Got better ratings compared to Michelin Pilot Super Sport. |

Most of the owner got crack rims are the one using the stock Nexen tyres. I actually went through a few pot hole before and some are really big ones. The sound is so loud when going through these pot holes. Recently I check my tyre because I went for 10,000km rotation, the tyre shop actually do balancing for all 4 rims and all rims are still in good condition. Tyre also plays an important role in protecting the rims. By the way, I am using Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy 2 as recomended by you.But im really concerned about the Nexen tyre. Yes but are these owners highlighting the problems with the Nexen tyres to Kia HQ? Cuz according to them, im the only one with problems with the Nexen. |

QUOTE(FlyWheel @ Dec 6 2012, 03:49 PM) bro, glad to hear that you are safe in such an incident. But, how do you know the Stability Control has activated ? The stability control indicator will light up. Its located on the RPM meter. |
