Thanks for your input, however I thought I am not taking any advantage from her since we are good friend, and I would guess if the price for 1 year old optima is depreciate for RM20K or more then the price I bought is not really below market price, adding up the insurance premium is already RM130K. A brand new optima with 55% NCB is about RM141K. So for a half year car I guess RM10K less is quite reasonable.  tongue.gif
Well u didnt say it was without insurance. So with insurance at 130K is reasonable.

hehe... just lupa to tell ! tongue.gif

anyway, just to ask cybermaster98 you have any experience on the HAC ( Hill Assist Control ) ?
when we stop at a inclined slope, gear shift to N, parking brake depressed. So, when we need to move the car again, first right foot depress brake pedal, then follow by release the parking brack, then follow by shift the gear to D, then follow by release the right foot brake pedal, this way the HAC should function for 2 seconds ? hmm.gif

I think it functions when the gear is in drive not N.

All, just booked my k5 last Friday, waiting for loan processing.
This forum is the best info for me about k5, from v1 to v3, which also helps me to make up my mind on this. Hopefully loan will approve earlier.

Any idea what is the interest rate like? Need to budget for glow ...hehe...

Anyway, none of these interest rates make a huge difference. Its only a few bucks difference a month.

Newbie coming to this thread!!  tongue.gif

Got my lovely K5 last week from Penang, it is an unit owned by my friend where she must let go her unit to me because she need to work at overseas starting next week.

Fuel Consumption : Not know how many kms i can go for full tank, the AVG Fuel Consumption shown 7.1L/100km at the highway and after few days driving city now increased to 7.6L/100km, i think it might go further.

Just curious, why when I press "reset" button, the AVG Fuel Consumption not showing data after reset or it can't be reset ?

Ride: The ride is awksome!  rclxms.gif
Especially with the autocruise the riding at highway make superb easy, my two legs sometimes not working at all  rclxm9.gif

I see here someone did the auto folding side mirror with smart key, I am wonder where can I get it done also ?
Will it also void the 5 years warranty we have with this done ?

You can reset the AVG Fuel Consumption, press TRIP more than 2 seconds and a USER SETTINGS menu displayed. Enter USER SETTINGS and try to find the something related I forgot what it's called.

Great to see more n more owners of the wonderful K5. Time to do a write up fr my own experience. After 6 months of driving around, a great korean car. Butttt.... Juz like all great cars, they too hav their fair share of issues. Either its petty or severe. I too suffer the same issue like most K5 owners. Noise of something tt is loosely fitted in the fronts doors n another creaking noise from the driver seat which could be the lumbar support. The auto wipers is not so intellegently auto enuf. At times windscreen is decently blurred wif water but a quick setting to speed up the interval will solve it. Strange. The engine is a bit noisy at cold starts but its ok after a couple of minutes. Timing chain clattering. Gear changes is very smooth n responsive but can b a bit to eager at times. This car understeers quite a bit but then its common wif most FF cars. Its oso due to the weight distribution, front heavy for sure. Now heres the better part of the K5, sound system is great (I m not much of an ICE guy but its definitely good enuf to impress me). Car overall handles well despite its size n suprisingly the engine performance is quite ok after driving it a while. Honestly, to harness the cars power, u hav to drive like the dohc vtec. Below 3.8k, its like any 2.0 NA, above tt rev range, watch the revs touch the red line wif ease. Not fuel friendly but at least u know theres some power at your disposal. Braking power is sufficient but could be better. NVH is quite good (in cabin wise) n the stock Nexen is not as bad its seems. Aquaplaning is good n dry grip is moderate. NVH is better than PS3 n CC5 (yes, i kid u not) Steering nice weighted but at times too much feedback. Once drove up Gurney Plazas multi tiered parking, vibration was so bad it felt as if my steering was going to come off! Well actually the steering adjustment lock came loose. Well other else than this, i feel its a good car n i honestly enjoy driving it. My 1st korean n i m truly impressed. This write up is purely from my own personal experience to share wif fellow owners, potential owners n non believers of korean makes.
