2nd click... After the first click I waited for 5 second then only pump again... And car meter panel indicating full bar.
And 70L to 82L is 12L difference. Very big gap...
Yes i guessed as much. You need to continue pumping. The K5 fuel tank is different from other cars. It has a longer 'neck'. From the first click, you can easily pump in another RM20 before its really full. Thats a good 10L more. That's how i got my max 82L. biggrin.gif

About fuel tank capacity, I'm not a very technical person but if the tank is well above 70L, why would the manufacturer not state it as such? Surely for marketing purpose, it pays to promote a car with a bigger tank?
I also had an experience with one of the petrol stations mentioned by CM98, I strongly suspect the fueling mechanism is not as it should be and I've never been back there since.  I think bUGG provided a good scenario for the tank capacity. He drove till the car stall and yet he can manage to put in only 70L.  Anyway just my personal opinion.
Check my explanation above. The manufacturer stated the capacity of the tank but they didnt include the 'neck' for sure. Not that the neck holds 10L but no manufacturer will indicate the exact capacity of the tank. And i dont think manufacturers like to promote bigger tanks. It somewhat reflects higher fuel consumption. Plus a bigger tank also means extra weight which again isnt something thats always good.

So u pumped in 64L with 2 bars remaining rite? Did i fill until almost overflowing? So surely if almost empty, your max capacity will be much more than 70L.

Your last bar doesnt blink? Mine always does. Next time try filling till almost overflowing. Ull need alot of patience for this. You can fill another 10L.

There is a warning in the owner's manual asking us not to top off after the nozzle automatically shuts during refueling. So I guess the official fuel tank capacity of 70L refers to the volume at the first click. I stop at the first click since that warning appears no less than 2 times in the manual. Not taking any chances... smile.gif

It is not advisable to pump again after the first click, I read somewhere in the past as after the first click, all subsequent fuel is not enter again into our gas tank.
I can't remembered from where I read the article but if I found it later I'll post again. biggrin.gif

Ok, found it from googling below several links :

http://www.monkeysee.com/play/9472-should-...omatic-shut-off

http://www.epa.gov/donttopoff/

I think there are plenty more articles out there to be searched if you want to.

IMHO, we have plenty of petrol station here as we can easily locate when we need to pump petrol. Moreover the lighter the car the more fuel efficiency we could have, why not just stop at the first click ? tongue.gif

Yea, i agreed, why need to pump so much till almost overflow.. unless u know the petrol price gonna raise up very badly..thats also can enjoy 1 tank.. so, wats the point...

but maybe some will say bcos of the petrol brand that they prefer or force to use selected brand like me due to using company petrol.. i am lucky bcos 1 full tank ngam ngam enuff for me to travel for 5 days.. most importantly.. organised your time properly.. Cheers!
