QUOTE(hanz079 @ Mar 21 2013, 12:42 PM) Thanks for the info. I see. Ya, Alor Star sucks. Although the airport is kinda fancy, it carries out local flight from KL to AOS only. I am from Kota Kinabalu, there is no direct flight to Alor Setar. Penang is the closest I can manage. So disappointed for being a Kedah-ian. |

QUOTE(katejing @ Apr 8 2013, 11:29 AM) Yes. You can! Certainly. Just go there. Near Malaysia immigration, turn right and when u see LKIM (Lembaga Kemajuan Ikan Malaysia), go straight parking and go down, walk up small stair case, straight and turn left into a small air-conded office. Tell them u wanna do border pass. Show them your 2pcs passport size photo (bring a few for standby purpose, normally need 2 pieces), pay RM10.00 Wait about 5-10min. (If less ppl lah) Then get your piece of Paper, aka BORDER PASS. After that, you can go in happily for happy. 04-9221621 , Imegresen Bukit Kayu Hitam. Call em up. I guess they open at 8am, if not mistaken. |

QUOTE(samlee860407 @ Apr 22 2013, 08:57 AM) wah so teruk liao now? expensive, but good food, nvm.but i don't always like water view la, just that the view is quite nice nia ped restaurant also getting more expansive...sigh water view, expensive and not nice. Food all not fresh. Being in village, like no fridge to keep the food fresh. I guess they cater for Thailanders only, not for chinese or asian. Ped restaurant's boss is a Chinese Thailander. So it's different. |

QUOTE(nearlee @ Jun 17 2013, 08:06 PM) not Thai Custom. It's prepared for Malaysia's roadblock right after DUTY FREE exit gate. Try to speak Malay with the officer, tell them everything complete, where are u from, heading to Thai for what purpose. They wont really look at your geran and passport. haha. So, even the car isn't yours, can drive in. Another friend of mine gave RM5 due to no photocopy geran, also get in. **Applicable for local guy la. We are kedah ppl. Thai custom never see on your car geran. Don't do stupid things such as showing it to them or something. Just roll down your window and drive in slowly. (No need roll down window also can, i never did cuz my car window is not black color tinted. Just I noted a lot of Thai car did that because most of their car window are BLACK. If not mistaken, there is a sign saying roll down your window. Driving in, there are a lot of bumps. So drive slowly. It's for them to trace who carry or smuggle Petrol or heavy weapons.) QUOTE(stimix @ Jun 18 2013, 11:50 AM) You need to declare at the Custom counter there-lah Their so called "Temporary Import Permit" When I tried years ago driving without declaring, I kena stopped by one of the officer near to the Danok gate and they ask me to reverse my car and declare at the custom counter oh really? Yours are different maybe, you must be heading to Hatyai or somewhere far and staying overnight. Mine was just few hours day trip only. Mostly at Dannok. This post has been edited by ck23: Jun 18 2013, 11:54 AM |

QUOTE(samlee860407 @ Jun 18 2013, 11:58 AM) I don't think the customs know that car is going to hatyai or danok kut? well, what my friend did told me that if the thai customs stop you, just tell them u going in makan few hours keluar d, they will let you go in Yes! No stamp also can.of coz, it depends on luck. as per the customs there is so damned lenient, most of the time people can just go past it easily. |
