QUOTE(youngman28 @ Jul 17 2013, 12:21 PM) Hi, wahh good lar.. so many places u hv been to. I have been travel South Thailand almost twin yearly. Anyway, felt bored if repeated to visit the same place. Can anyone recommended some place nearby Hatyai that worth to visit. Nearby means can travel by car within 1-2 hours or < 150km from Hatyai. Basically looking for family trip rather than" adventure trip" Summarise place that i have visited so far:- - Hatyai/ Dannok, almost every year -Bentong (3-4 time) -Krabi ( One) -Phuket ( Twin) -Phuket town (One) try drive to Bangkok la. A friend of mine did. He is mixed of Chin-Thai. Read and write in thai no problem. So he never got a GPS, all the while is reading road sign. He told me YALA got one "MOUSE CAVES", he drove there before. |

QUOTE(youngman28 @ Jul 17 2013, 06:54 PM) Haha, True...Good suggestion, But not practical le? It kinda tire with long range driving, especially driving in Tom Yam land, and most important was the fuel price was double than in Malaysia. Not worth the money spend, rather take a flight they was better and cheaper option. Like me only drive to Danok or Hatyai songkla only. |

QUOTE(max_cjs0101 @ Sep 19 2013, 04:47 PM) Guys, just curious, the duty free shops there sell tobacco products like cigars and also alcohol? Danok a bit expensive, due to its transportation cost is higher. Is Danok or Langkawi duty free goods cheaper? Yes. They do sell Tobacco/cigars/alcohol. Go there no need to bring passport. Just tell immigration that you wanna go Duty Free will do. Sometime need to flash ID though. |

QUOTE(max_cjs0101 @ Sep 19 2013, 05:01 PM) I see.. You have to be staying overnights.I believe i enjoy Langkawi more so i'll shop in Kuah. Btw, do you go to Langkawi often stimix? I see, thanks. But one can just go there and buy duty free and come back? no need to stay for a minimum length? But I don't think they catch it tightly. A car has a lot of space to hide. Unlike Langkawi, crossing by checkpoint, you gotta open up your bags and show your previous ferry tickets to prove you have stayed overnights. |

QUOTE(basilpaschal @ Sep 19 2013, 03:10 PM) Going to Hatyai, you'll need to fill up a temporary car import permit at Thai immigration. If around Danok, no need. Bear in mind with this, else if you got roadblock in Hatyai, you would be fined. It's just a sheet of paper, just queue and get it. I personally don't like to shop outside, prices are expensive sometime if you don't have nego skills. As for me, I like to go to Tesco Lotus. It's air conditioned, price is fixed, no worries for being cheated. Basically you can get everything there. There's one in Sadao, one in Danok. Go further, there's one before Hatyai. Big C also, only at Hatyai. |
