Goodness, please edit out the post and stop quoting it. Just reading it is offensive. If you can't get Lego the right way, then first find the right way. If you want it bad enough, work for it.

This is "mad".... the more I read the more I wanted to hit the mall later to splurge on a set for 2nite's fix. BTW any of you have a special set tucked in the store with an imaginary "Break Glass during *emergency" label?

Hmmm this drawn me:

QUOTE
Simonsen explained why the level of LEGO production quality has to be so high, mentioning in particular what the company calls "clutch power," i.e., the ability of its bricks to snap together tightly while also being easy to separate, thereby readily allowing for de- and reconstruction. Speaking of the machines that make the bricks, Simonsen said, "It takes a very low tolerance for all our bricks to have that clutch power." This precision has apparently paid off: "All the bricks that have been produced since 1958 can be put together still."
Why aren't we MOCing yet (on a big scale.. like the AFOLs elsewhere) . Truly contented with a single building experience right off the box? kinda wasted having them putting effort in ensuring clutch power good enuff for long term repeated builds.

Answer from Lego back in 2008. It is outdated and twisted logic to me.

Finally, final pricing in the market place is obviously determined by retailers, which is something we cannot and will not influence.

Funny the retailers got the blame and the consumers/collectors/AFOLs/scalpers bear the cost of the blame. They conveniently forgot the distributor, who's laughing all the way to the bank. Welcome to Malaysia, the "apa2 pun Boleh jadi kita pun bina dan buka Legoland untuk meraih banyak lagi keuntungan bukan sahaja dari M'sia tetapi juga Singapura dan lain2".
