Funny the retailers got the blame and the consumers/collectors/AFOLs/scalpers bear the cost of the blame. They conveniently forgot the distributor, who's laughing all the way to the bank. i believed this all round up to economic of scale

if large market, then can sell cheap (US)
if small market (Mlysia) where many ppl not buy Lego n not into it,
then hv to sell higher price just to make profit

i might be wrong tho

guys, wanna ask something, where to buy generic bricks? lik in bulk.....i got an idea for the display for the minifigs, but need lots of bricks....

man! i really gotta educate my son on the importance/value of each piece! The sets are mixed up, scattered on his playmat ..nothing is missing (yet)   

how to "handle" the pile of "mess" ha? i used to separate them back to their original sets but now, i just let them mixed up and thot to myself, on one fine day, will separate them again.

Fret the pile getting bigger and not able to separate them back (or too time consuming)

Haha, I dont mind updating the thread when I'm there. Most likely will snap a ton of pictures and document the pricing and what's available on Pick A Brick. I can sit myself down at the cafe and update the tread with some first-hand information!

Sorry for missing out on updating from Legoland today, my phone ran out of battery halfway.

Musha got most of it right - ALJ prices (ugh), although there were some positives.

Quite a few Lego Store exclusives (i picked up a few) which I thought were worth it since there's no real easy way to get them here. They had a lot of Battle Packs (City Fire, PotC, Kingdoms Dragon Knights vs Lion Knights), a ton of keychains but nothing much for AFOLs. No polybags too except Ninjago Kendo + Jay and the Halloween brick set.

Oh, but they had a really nice selection of Architecture sets.

Here's what I picked up.



Also, I'm highly doubtful that they would bring back old sets... Wouldn't make much sense to have Green Grocers of Imperial Star Destroyers when they've been discontinued for so long.

And yes, the Pick a Brick and Build a Minifig isn't open yet BUT I think I managed to wrangle the prices out from some of the employees there.

One of the managers that worked at the store said that Pick a Brick will cost RM30-35 for 100gm of Lego. Not too sure of the selection though, will find out on September 15. Also, for the Build A Minifig, 3 minifigs will cost you RM25, which isn't too bad. I pressed them further for more info on whether we'd get any sets that would be exclusive to Legoland, and he said maybe - they're still not too sure yet and will only know when the park opens officially.
