Heh, TRU vouchers only give you a 5% 'discount'. It's not really a discount because you only get to claim the amount 'saved' on your next purchase. Jusco/Parkson and Brickboy would be your best bet, since the savings are immediate.

Or buy from online sources? Save even more. But either get slightly/badly damaged boxes or flattened boxes or no box at all.

If you're an AFOL, which is better? Online (cheaper) or retail (more expensive)?

If you're a reseller?

If you're a newbie?

If you're a kid?

as AFOL, i will choose online most of the time, unless for small set, cause shipping cost for small set is not that good most of the time.

Best sales 15% off Lego
Gain jusco points with returns of 0.4%

total savings 15.4%

Parkson:
Best sales 10% off lego
RM150 gives RM10 voucher ~6.5%

total savings 16.5%

use maybank2card amex, 5% rebate on weekend, 5x treatpoint
if below rm1000 purchase, consider it a 7.5% savings

so all in combo saving for lego max for me is 24%

Jabba's Palace is still at least RM100 more expensive than our friends in S'pore.

And those who order online, even more savings.

I agree..resonable with bike. This set reoffered several times due to popularity of the CITY theme. Can have a few to form a police convoy escort.

Added on August 8, 2012, 8:28 pmI started when LEGO was under previous distribution Msian company. When its warehouse sale, those are value for money prices.

ALJ or TRU increase the price of S7 when they see S6 become popular, so the notion that more volume mean cheaper price does not apply to them, prices for S7 did not increase in major countries, exchange rate was stable too if not better. Go figure.

Don't think so, remember S2 the retailers raised the price themselves, end up no business.
That time they raised it to RM13 per pack, greedy them after looking at the sales of S1 is so overwhelming.

S1 had limited distribution. TRU Empire had four cases at the front counter and sold out within a week. At that time One Utama had them at the LEGO exhibition at New WIng concourse. No one expected the CMF being a hit. Currently the fastest selling item in all TRU stores.

I heard from someone from within the retailer who solely sold the S2 that price increase suggested to support the LEGO photo shoot contest cost and prizes. But at RM 12.90, S2 also selling well.

Good morning to all, back when LEGO bricks were stored in this kinda treasure chests.

i'd jack it up to 11.90 if i were ALJ.
this is the perk of being sole distro doing collectible retail product.

i feel their margin is about 30-40% toward the retail shoppes.

i dun think so, its 10% now. 15% was the summer break sale previously.

if u ask me the decent stock is the one-u branch. the other that i go to (cheras selatan, sunway, bukit tinggi) all very less.
