you dont need to tick the unknown source when you restore apps because the custom kernel/custom rom already included TB and supersu. So you dont need to install it seperately. however if you install other apps that you download in apk form, you need to tick unknown sources.

Want to know if anyone else has this problem:

I'm using Handcent as my default messaging app. After installing Checkrom, the default messaging app I think is uninstalled already.

The problem is, due to the very lousy quality cell reception, sometimes my messages don't go out. This is ok if the phone lets me know, so I can retry.

However, Handcent does not. It will just keep "sending" in the bubble screen and it thinks the message is already sent when I click message details. Obviously this is nonsense as I think I have already replied but the message did not send out and there is no warning anywhere that the message has not been sent.

Any ideas? On previous android phones, Handcent will notify me whenever it's unable to send.

Step1: Use the correct audio format support by your phone.



If your source is a different format, i recommend using Foobar music player on your pc, and convert to the supporting format. In my case i converted a muse format into AAC using the Nero AAC encoder from here

As nice as FLAC is, the file size is too huge to be practical on the S3. Instead i recommend using AAC that was encoded from a FLAC source instead. Sounds just as nice and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference, and you will have a more practical file size 

Step2: you need to move your music file from your pc to your phone. The way i did it was using Dropbox from desktop, and the dropbox on my S3

Then export the music file to your music folder located on your internal SD card.


Step3: Startup your music player and browse to where the music is and press + hold until it prompts out a list of selection. Select set as ringtone.
