QUOTE(magika @ Jan 16 2013, 11:22 AM) If the interest can be redeposited at 3.88%pa, effective return will be 4.03%. KFH pays upfront interest, however, the interest goes to a savings account, and if the savings account is maintained above RM2,000.00, the saving interest is 2.00% per annum. QUOTE(magika @ Jan 13 2013, 01:28 PM) Past few pages we have been discussing about it, not really good. So far the best new promotion for 2013 seems to be MBSB, MACH, OCBC Bonus Saver. Damn disappointed with MBSB Malacca branch. The branch looks dated and run down. No officers / staffs to serve the customers. Was greeted by a security guard and was told to wait. Left the branch after waiting for 10minutes. Nobody came to serve. QUOTE(ronnie @ Jan 15 2013, 12:39 AM) The Maybank Fixed Deposit (FD) New Year Campaign commencing from 10 January until 25 January 2013 (or upon reaching our deposit target, whichever is earlier.) Only new placement of fresh funds during the Campaign Period shall be entitled to the promotional rates during the Campaign Period. Effective Rate : 3.35% p.a. for the 3-month FD Refer to http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/fdNewYear110113_tnc.pdfThis one sure will very fast fill up one.

QUOTE(gsc @ Jan 16 2013, 02:00 PM) Am bank normal account holder and UOB for premier customer How to categaries as Pemier customer? Because I facing problem for my old FD almost 7 years, and call up the bank, they said MUST back to same branch to renew the cert. This make me inconvenient. At least PBB, and BSN I can renew my FD or withdraw at any branch. (PBB limited to 20k withdrawer if not home branch).

Was in Citibank today. Was told that FD for 1 year is now 3.05%, starting Jan 10th !
So the trend is going down ?? Better go and grab those banks giving promotions !
Really admire Magika's 4.2/4.3% he got from BR. Salute to you !

UOB minimum deposit 500k to qualify for premier customer. 7 years ago and now are quite different. Now banks offers internet or phone banking and you can renew easily without leaving your house. PBB public bank? I thought public bank is still using the conventional FD cert. any renewal or withdrawal must back to the opening branch.

QUOTE(penangmee @ Jan 16 2013, 11:22 PM) AMbank 3.8 pa min 50000k existing customer this 3.8%*.... is it legal to advertise as fixed deposit and then say interest rate is indicative or expected profit? if int rate is not fixed, then it carries risk, more like some investment fund or trust? can call it fd? For islamic FD they wont call it interest rate, instead they used the term profit rate. Most of the time, it stated as expected but on the FD cert itself, the rate is fixed. So far forum members said they get what the bank advertised from other islamic FD.

Yes, is Public Bank. I'm still using conventional FD cert, and can renew or withdrawal at different branch. I just do it few days ago. But the staff did told me limited for 20k withdrawal.
