It's all about negotiation with your boss. You need a good reason to ask your boss for a raise.
Usually more pay more work or responsibility. Or else upgrade your skills of your profession.

From my opinion, if you think you deserve to get more then you can ask your boss a raise directly or else look for other opportunity... if outside cannot give the amount you request that's mean you still have room to improve...

Depends la bro. Different organisation different culture. I don't leave sharp but most of the time I only stay back until 7.30pm, which is reasonable. I never came to work on weekends.

Guys, I'm a fresh grad for Diploma in Hotel Management. Was wondering, if fresh grads are usually allowed to apply for supervisor position in restaurants? These employees usually ask 'what is your expected salary?', how will I know how much is suitable without looking too greedy? I am really afraid of being underpaid for my services.

I do know of a restaurant where even normal full-time workers can earn up to 2k - 2.1k a month. How much would a supervisor earn? Any idea?

Don't mean to belittle your current salary, but.. RM1200 is a little.. sad.gif I worked part-time after SPM in a shopping mall while waiting for college intake, and I earned that much after a month's work (6days/week RM5/hour) I think you need a new company!

Even fresh grads from oversea getting same paid as local grads. The only different is you get different exposure and the Uni/College is more recognise then others = higher chance of getting hire but certainly not higher paid.

Whether you can get a better paid is by how good you are, not how good is the Uni/College.

When studying = R&D, when working = production.

So how good the production depends on how good the R&D.

Study public university or even TAR college, the only position they offer at beginning still a fresh graduate entry salary.

XXX compay hire for YYY post is rm ZZZZZ.zzz
To get the job hv to see how u charm/impress the interviewer what you hv and learn regards from WHERE you graduate. Degree holder is very common and each year XXXX number graduate come out to find job.

Focus and excellent where you study in exam; that how HR will see your grade evaulate with among candidates. rolleyes.gif

Juz my opinion noting wrong where you study but what you learn and archieve from the college/university.

My question: Should ask yourself how to get this XXXXX paid for this XXXXX post, working is earning butter and bread end of the month.

Thanks for the oppinion conqu3ror n felixmask.

I got the point now. Is all depends how you impress during interview and how much you learn during collage.

Which collage you join is does matter, the matter is the exposure and the influence you got from the collage you join.

alot college/university claim they hv born XXXX ppl in job market. Are you the one can do extra ordinary ting and ppl notice you. Corporate world very cruel, you be working different kind of collegues, some are older age, higher post , taichi ppl, even Mr Bean type working ppl, so.......this the realy challenge to show your out perform and get paid XXXX.XX. How good you are, you may not get XXXXX.xx paid becoz in the company there is not alway you can challenge what your boss grade you.. nod.gif

You may consider the cost and You must be the Excellent in where you study.

Thinking so. Jump around also those Insurance company with same post. Except jump to manager post. What i want to share when working with end user company and you too good techinical the company wont appreciate much, becoz the mind set require your Management Talking skill(Pointing Horse & Polish shoe) impress the Top op management. Cobol is mature and those ppl claim to know COBOL rather give join as techincial and move to Manager. Manager alway 1 post - once join as manager will forget the techinical stuff.
