I've search how the oil lubricate the engine...but 1 thing i'm not sure...piston ring is not lubricate by the engine oil?...
I've previously replace the valve seal only...almost 1 year ago when i replace it...since my car already 10years old, should i just fix the valve seal again or opt for top overhaul?...which is more beneficial for the long run?...i wanted to fix the problem and drive for another few years...
*
the valve seal should can tahan more than 2 years (unless ur valve seal quality not good). If problem remain, u go overhaul the engine, anyway it is 10 years already. Spent little money now to prevent costly maintenance in the future.

Wish to go for an overhaul...but budget not allowed at the moment...i just can try to fix it...if no choice, i guess i will opt for a top overhaul...

Damn CEL light comes up again, for sure its not the TB problem now sad.gif I had it changed twice already. This time, it happens, idle RPM drops down to half of 1k or less. Then I pressed on the throttle a bit, went up to 2k then the RPM went very low and then engine went off. Turned off the car, take out the keys and then start it up again, only then it went back to normal, but CEL light is still there. Argh please not the ECU which is giving problem. Guys any recommended SC that I should go around Klang Valley to get my car checked? Want to try to change instead of keep going to Proton SC, yet problem ain't being solved.

And I notice, before the thing happens, my idle RPM keeps fluctuating a bit then went back to normal repeatedly w/o me stepping on the gas. Hmm hmm.gif

engine oil decrease. white smoke coming from the exhaust. exhaust tip got oily stains.
if got such symptoms, you can do top overhaul 1st as valve seal problem also same symptoms.
then when open can see if the piston ring also need replacement.

I notice if I slam full throttle on standstill the cars seems to take off rather sluggish compared to when I open the throttle with a mild tap and then increasing the throttle. Is this normal for all cars?

drive shaft kong already.
planning to change both sides, new DS (not recond one!) only comes from CHina now, there's one brand name GSP, so looks like I'm going to settle for that.

also, changing DS oil seal, I heard there are different kind varies from premium quality to soso quality. the most common one is NOK, below RM10, however I was introduced to another type, cost near to RM20 one pcs (ex workmanship), not really sure which one to take up.

Hi all,
it's been awhile! i've got another car for carrying parents and all, so now can finally consider modding the wira's suspension system to stop the car from feeling like riding a boat (currently still stock suspensions)
what should i do if my budget is only around 1k? i'm using 195 55R15 and its a 1.5L sedan.
i'd like to feel less floating on highways (130kmh i feel floaty already) and on city less boat-swaying feeling.
please advise, oh sifoos... notworthy.gif

if possible, try not reduce comfort too much. bones getting a bit old lately blush.gif

update: leaning towards adjustables (coilovers?) is HWL good?
