on the k701 purchase, im not that sure yet, like i said, i need an audition, haha! Itchy to get, the money is there, but maybe its better spent sumwhere else..i almost gotten myself DT990 until sumone informed me of the vast difference between one and my 595 (difference that i dont welcome, esp boomy bass). Next june is a long way to go, we will see..

But if i get a K1000, the devil's gonna bow to me, haha! Dreaming..

lolz. btw how did u fill the hole on mine? Damn, now when i look at it i feel like taking it back

after i glue back the headphone, then i fill it with putty...
and then wait the putty half harden, i use sand paper remove the excess one.
how ever, it doesn't look nice, but very firm, i can shake it really hard now (for testing purpose)
so i cover it with the black tape.
ijan one and eddy one i gum perfetly nice. but i just cover ijan one with black tape also so ur HP890 is not so "unique"..
well once the HP890 reach my hand,, actually quite impossible u can get it back...
=P
i spend 8 hours in total work, and the gum dried in roughly 18 hours....

now i'm starting to miss my HP1000 (NOT GRADO LOL). They are extremely comfortable to wear, however, i did not like it's bright and glossy nature.

do u mind to describe a bit about the sound of HP1000?

I own a HP890 and a SHP895 and a few headphone stand..

HP890 full set including box , bought it few years ago..fully burn..

Bass strong - Great , midbass/treble - good

Compared to SHP895 , HP890 still produce better quality sound and comfortable to me...

Now adays, I am using this HP 890 at office plug into Ipod..

Before this I use HP 890 mainly for games, after midnight ..

I know HP 890 no longer in production, but if anyone want to sell used or new one do let me know too...Intrested to buy another pair...

IMO They have a HUGE soundstage! It's lots wider than my HD580! One thing for sure, you gotta pair it tube amp, it's sounds shrill when pairing with my SOHA, it's bright sounding! Dude, since you loving the DT880, I suggest you take a pop at 03' DT880, for USD150 for used set, you are getting a huge potential headphone! Heard that the 05' version is one of the most neutral sounding dynamic driver headphone available around, that's going to be my another headphone along with my HD580

perhaps, according to Yeah guy, u should at least get LD2+ or LD2++. to tune down the HP1K glossy signature.

dun get LD micro +

not suit it since it will over bright
LD2+ pair nice with Phiilips HP1000

but now i using LD micro tube
which is much much better than LD2+
