QUOTE(KilJim @ May 24 2006, 11:08 PM) Nah, i actually got them yesterday Heard that 595 sonically is quite similiar to HP1000, is it true? Performance between these two really that close?Original plan was to downgrade the 595 for the HP1000 since i dont use them much anymore After comparing them both...i cant bring myself to do it RM250 only ! Quick PM me before i post it up in the Garage Sales |

go for warm sounded amp ~~~ tube amp is more preferable, if you pairing it with solid state amp, you are going to suffer the harsh highs, midrange is abit recessed though and bass is abit weak, that's why you better pair it with tube amp, warm and tube based generally gives better bass quantity than solid state based:)
My Philips HP1000 pairing little dot III certainly works as a greater synergy than HF-1 with little dot III, the Philips sounds lots airier, soundsstage is huge, mids feel lush just that it's abit recessed, the Grado totally owns HP1000 in bass since the HF-1 said to be among the bassiest and impactful can of the Grado family. For that kind of money, it's certainly among the best bang of bucks can out there! No kidding! Final words, system synergy is only way to go, the Philips aint that poor, once feed them right, they will give you the best This post has been edited by GodLuvSxS: May 27 2006, 02:58 AM |

QUOTE(PcWork @ Dec 19 2006, 07:09 PM) IMO They have a HUGE soundstage! It's lots wider than my HD580! One thing for sure, you gotta pair it tube amp, it's sounds shrill when pairing with my SOHA, it's bright sounding! Dude, since you loving the DT880, I suggest you take a pop at 03' DT880, for USD150 for used set, you are getting a huge potential headphone! Heard that the 05' version is one of the most neutral sounding dynamic driver headphone available around, that's going to be my another headphone along with my HD580 |

One thing for sure here .... HP1k certainly pumps more detail than my HD580 when amped .... but you must pair it with tube amp, else highs are really shrills!
