Hmm... I know HP1000 can produce very low bass up to 5Hz but my Rotel integrated still have no enough ooohm to drive it. May be have to revert back to PA2V2.

I know HD595 is light to drive as I tested it with HD1500U (Wireless amp), the music really sounds nice.

Both also have their own strength.
*
I'm curious, is the PA2V2 good enough for the HP1000?

Maybe tachikoma and thedoctor is right, the HP1000 indeed needs a better Amp seriously. (or is it just them?)

i'm sure it's just us.
and how come Tachi is mentioned? supposed to be ijan and KilJim. tongue.gif

maybe you should wait for the next gathering. if i could attend, you could hope to play with some uber high end DIY amps. and a few modded sources.
*
Awww how sweet, thanks for the invitation smile.gif

OH, maybe i was wrong, apologies to Tachikoma tongue.gif

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Apr 12 2006, 10:20 PM)
^ or maybe you just need to dive into DIY.
build yourself a unit of any amp, and listen to it. by then you don't need to trust anyone, not me, not Head-Fiers, not ijan and even KilJim and Tachi. trust your ears.

how bout that? biggrin.gif
*
LOL, the truth is, i do not know where exactly i can find trusted source and reviews (non-biased). I guess what i was hoping for is very fictional.

I do not have much time for D.I.Y. for the moment as i'm a SPM student. Lets hope i get to travel to K.L. On the next gathering smile.gif

i only got Hp800 wor..
but anyway.
roughly is .HP800 have much more wider sound stage, treble also not so harsh.
but in bass, KOSS can produce better and deeper bass.
*
the weird thing is, i've heard people saying the KSC75 is bright tongue.gif

Probably my bad, anyone can confirm? I might end up getting one smile.gif

It is a little bright, think everyone will tell u that  tongue.gif
But not bright to the point that it's a problem for me though
Of course compared to something like the HD595 it's way brighter  laugh.gif
*
ouch, still bright comparing to the HD595? Maybe i'm asking a weee bit too much...

I'm still contemplating, whether to get a nice set of speakers or a HD650 + DeskAmp

Its very hard to decide.

TO LittleGhost:

If you have the space/cash and no issues with disturbing family members/neighbours, try the speakers first, headphones can be great adjuvant if circumstances don't allow a proper hifi setup. If the above issues become a compromising problem for you, then definately go for the headphone/amp setup, it can be just as enjoyable at times but to be frank, hifi does the job better most times for most people.

Headfi has been gaining popularity especially with intro of Ipod and gang, but looking at the market sector reserved for headfi (eg. in magazines, websites, hifi shops and such), there is still a long way to go b4 they catch up with real world hifi.
*
thank you smile.gif

I Really enjoy my speakers, the experience is so much better than my HP1000 although the HP1000 sounds SO much better.

We should stop using "burn-in" terms and start mentioning "Run-in".

Don't need those pink noise or whatever noise, just listen your music through out certain period your music will come sounds better. Precise bass and better clarity trebles.

Good luck.
*
saya sangka it should be "break-in" instead of Burn-in or "run-in?

correct me if i'm wrong tongue.gif

i hav a question to ask.

My PC has a sound 'BEEP' everytime i switch it on, and the sound is quite loud. Can the sound hurts my headphone? (since my SHP895 is always connect to PC)

Does anyone has the same problem with me? Any solution to it?
*
lol, the beep comes from your PC right?

If it is the case, then you can stop worrying about the "beep" killing your headphones.

The beep comes from your Casing's speaker, for post code, bios blah blah blah. You need the beep to confirm everything is running fine

But there are 2 'BEEP' produced, 1st 'BEEP' comes from casing speaker, but another 'BEEP' sound comes out from sound card, to my headphone or speaker set, and this is wat i worry about  tongue.gif
any solution to overcome it? Or mayb i use the most stupid way, unplug the headphone everytime i switch off PC. sad.gif
*
what's your soundcard?

anyone here wants to buy my HP1000?

It is only a few months old, everything is in a good condition, and smells good, you can actually still smell the "new toys" smell.

PM me if interested

hot damn you guys are spamming....

Anyway, about the PA2V2 you guys recommended.

I find the pot to be too sensitive (too small i guess? thanks to cl for the information) Unless you guys really need loud volume, otherwise i'm not sure whether it's a good choice over other cmoys with a lower gain/bigger pot.

Just curious, anyone tried HP1000 on a MP3 player before? hehehe I tried HP895 on T10, need to use louder volumn and higher boost to bring up the music.
*
that'll be me.

Anyway, it's very subjective, i don't think any MP3 player has decent power to drive the HP1000. However if volume is the only thing concerned, in my opinion it works just fine. I can drive it to acceptable volumes even with the ALVS feature enabled on my Sony NW-A1000.

yeap at least a year only will consider a full burn.. thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

40 hours seem not really a good mark, but is for a warmup level only.
*
and you can tell the difference eventhough initially after >40hours it brought some improvement and changes? Can you describe the difference in detail? One full year seems to be a long period (heck it's like 8760hours), and i'm skeptical about the difference it brings.

Placebo effect. Free upgrades smile.gif

QUOTE(Renovatio)
hehe I am even more skeptical to think there's any differences after 10 hours continuous running. Most of the time, our mind will convince us that there's improvements although that's just our ears getting used to the music played by the headphones, nothing more tongue.gif

It's hard to say, i get the break-in effect from the HP1000 while i have yet to experience any significant break-in effect on my new HD650. My past experience tells me that break-in effect should be significant, but hey, it's not happening yet to my HD650. I guess break-in isnt all about placebo effects and psychological change.
