Working as a charm now, but dunno can tahan how long. Later if it broke again I sell it to you ijan's headphone broke that place too. then he sell to me. and it does give him a good reason to upgrade.... and until now.. he has HD595.. and some new toys is comming. lol. do pm me if you really wanna sell. |

Hp805 looks cheaper and easily breaks compare to the hp890 but actually it is the other way round -.- hp890 breaks to easily i guess.
Sound also more or less the same except that hp890 have slightly better treble and bass. |

I never thought the changing the cables affect that much though..
and about it being fragile maybe I'm the some of the unlucky ones to get those with material defects QUOTE he sound suddenly change. bass tamed down slightly, not as fat, and all treble comes out. and now even more treble compare to ksc75.. ksc75 is like slightly blured compare to the fully burned hp890. i compare it once again , the burned hp890 and my own almost new hp890 and found they sound different.. =) both also sound good of course. The treble is more than the ksc-75? You sure about that? IMO the treble from the koss is more than the hp890, or mine is not properly bured in QUOTE actually, not slight different... HP890 fully burn in is quite nice.. wanna come? my hp890 + canare starquad cable If only you somewhere around my place |

QUOTE wanna come over and listen urself? =P i got 3 pair of hp890 and 3 pair of ksc75. both comparing give the same result. so i assume there's no experimental error occur. with stock cable. the sound is quite dark. but have better bass. but with canare cable. hehehe i gurantee u can't tahan the treble if you turn it really loud. lol so many same headphones for what Btw have you tried the HP895? Any obvious different with the HP890? |

QUOTE(kelvinyam @ Jan 18 2007, 09:17 PM) Iriver T30 is just a portable MP3 player right? It could drive HP890? I've tried HP805 with my PDA and the sound sucks. I got to amp it with PA2V2. The t30 can drive hp890. It may sounded a bit thin though. IMO iriver are not really good at driving headphones except the ksc75 =.= . Amping them also doesn't help much. Sony mp3 player does a better job i guess. |

QUOTE(besaid @ Feb 13 2007, 02:52 PM) haha, then i guess i better settle something that is good and cheap.my ears not worthy enough for grados just yet,i think.now i am wondering is 8900 really that much an improvement over 895 Honestly, speaking I think that grado will give you the more wow factor if you are first time buying your first expensive cans. I asked around my friends, they say that the grado sounds better than the philips probably because of the fun factor. When I first bought the philips hp890 it is more like "is that it?" kind of feeling. You will appreciate the philips after using it for awhile. Grado have a better first impression, you can feel the bass and treble. Not much soundstage, but I don't think it really matters at first. Anyway, sound really is a subjective matter. It would be better for you to try out both before getting one. Hope the philips people here are not offended I myself using hp805. And before this hp890. A used sr60 will cost you rm200 usually and not more than that |

QUOTE(walabies @ May 18 2007, 05:47 PM) Here comes another grado boy... Each can have their own unique sound signature. However, I love how guitar sounded in grado. I have to agree with yrh as the Grado sound signature is very 'special', more so if you went up to the hill, the acoustic created between your ears are just memorable. If you are able to create a similar signature, congrats, and you can write email to Grado and tell them to create a new model using the more comfortable HP890 model. I too also cant differentiate SR60, SR125 and SR80. They sounded too similar. Just SR125 has slightly brighter signature. I asked the shop and they claimed that after the burn in the sound signature will evolve and matured. Which I am quite believe so, as the shop's SR60 sounds better than SR125 (new set As for SR225 and higher, they can be easily differentiated. 225 has 'rock-ier' sound and 325 is just bleeding bright/but nice clarity. But hearing them saying the modded hp890 sounded like sr80 really really makes me curios. I wonder what kind of changes had been made to make the hp890 sounded similar. Because I used to own hp890, and if i remember well they don't sounded similar at all This post has been edited by naruto_kun: May 18 2007, 06:03 PM |
