Yes, I get SMS for each of my transaction regardless of the amount. Online and offline as well.

Just did my first Paypal transaction with Amex over the weekend.

Weird thing was, last week b4 I performed the transaction I called up CS just to check if my card is Paypal enabled. CS told me it was not and have to perform it first, then it will be rejected then call up CS again to unblock it.

But when I did it on Sunday, it went through without any problem, didn't have to call CS. Could it be that I've previously done multiple online transactions thus they've unblock Paypal as well?

Btw, Paypal USD conversion rate was at 3.142

Applied for these 2 cards through a aquaintaince working in Maybank Sabah. Basically it was a favor as I think she needs to reach her quota and coincidently I was planning to get these 2 cards.

She submitted my application last week, and today she told me that my application process is still pending after enquiring with the card center. She said nowadays the application process is more stringent.

Just wanna know how long did it took for u guys to receive your card?

applied tru one of their roadshows, call up after a week, rejected. go str8 to KLCC, got my card within 2 hours, went home got a letter regarding the rejected application from the roadshow booth.

Last week i used my 2 cards on paypal to pay sgd. I can see the conversion rate directly for visa card 2.6, i could not see the conversion rate for amex until it is reflected on my statement. The paypal visa rate is damn high at 2.6 compare with amex 2.56.

Amex is better when it comes to paypal exchange rate at least for sgd

Ohya did I say that I received a Starbucks Card worth RM10 when my application is succesful

is it advisable to re apply at those cc centre eg OU after got rejected. Got rejected 2 weeks ago. I am badly want to own this card because of its benefit.

I called up the card centre to enquire about my application status but was told that there is no new application under my IC no.

I msged my fren again and she said she has ady faxed my application to the card centre, twice somemore as the first time the card centre staff said the application form was too blur or something.

Gosh, if I knew this would have happened, will go the the Garden's card centre to apply straight.

hi guys, i want to renew my car insurance using amex but the office is closed (Etiqa) on weekends. I called their call center and they mentioned that it can be done but i need to tell them my amex cvv number, is this safe?

cant use Amex for etiqa online.

yes, call the etiqa hotline, speak to an agent.

been 3 years straight use the call etiqa method & revealing my cvv number, touchwood nothing bad happen yet.

3 years, still no change.

u can only pay maxis with amex via their center, and as far i know, not all accept amex also, please check the amex thread...


treatpoints-wise, visa/mastercard will always only get 1x TP and amex will always get 5x TP anyday..

but amex do have 5% on weekends only

p/s: do remember that u can use m2u to pay streamyx with amex on weekends, to get 5x TP + 5%
