QUOTE(phobian @ Sep 3 2012, 12:43 PM)
I learn through the hard way and observe closely what is happening around me. Ask alkt if he would dare to ride without his gears. We have seen many friends whom got into a crash without proper gears and it is just not worth it. If I am lazy to gear up, I will just use the car then.

I have a mini closet packed with riding gears and lets not get to how much I have spent. Not about bragging rights, but I have different priorities and viewpoint in life that I would want to mitigate as much risk as possible.

My list:

1. Helmets - Arai RX7RR5, Shoei Z6 & KBC Force RR. Clear & smoke/tinted for all 3.
2. Jackets - Fake Dainese Air2Tex, RS Taichi RSJ827 Racer & RS Taichi RSJ825 GMX Motion (crashed tested & still usable). Furygan cordura (unusable due to low speed crash)
3. Gloves - Fake RS Taichi GP WRX (leather), RS Taichi NXT-051 (leather), RS Taichi Velocity (leather & mesh) & Komine mesh glove
4. Boots - Sidi ST & Forma Boulevard
5. Pants - Kushitani mesh, RS Taichi RSY817 leather & riding jeans with hip, knee and kevlar stichings
6. Suit - Spidi Track Wind pro
7. Protectors - RS Taichi TRV033 (chest) & Knox Contour Back protector

Not forgetting inner wears, got mix and variation of here and there. I tend to sweat a lot and this helps a lot to regulate body temperature, feel good and risk of smelling like a stench of a sweaty pig.

If you folks plan to get similar gears as to what I have, drop me a PM and I would be more than happy to share my personal thoughts and opinions.

Taken last year October just couple of KMs away from Sadao border, on our way to Phuket.

Left at 6.00am (if I recall correctly), reached Phuket at 9.30pm (MY time). 1000KMs and time to hit Tora-Tora. Priceless!

Daily travel back n forth Cheras <=> Shah Alam since day 1 pick up the bike on July 2012

Below 1k mileage - 0km/h to 140km/h
1.5k mileage to now - 0km/h to 16xkm/h and felt can still going but didn't push it because 1 Malaysia Roller Coaster Roads (Puchong - Putrajaya - Dengkil) ;-p

1k service at Naza Shah Alam - only changed 2 bottle 1lit RM26 each, they keep the remain oil so dunno what they pour in (i guess semi sync otherwise Naz really cut throat) ;-p

Ori tyre Shinko - pls slowww down when wet - forget abt corner when wet - acceptable corner when hot n dry ;-p

Everything ori no customize!

1st problem - left signal wouldn't light - 4 unit signal lights the top left not light - checked not burn bulb - switch top left bulb to back it light like a bulb ;-p - will report in next service 3k at probably Naza Service Centre next to Federal High ;-p

Btw anyone know how to open front seat? They said open back seat with key than got nob to open front seat - can't find it ?_?

Guys, need ur input.

As a newbie I started off with a more affordable helmet... Grayfosh.

But after a mth, the visor is scratched, and vision thru the visor isn't good.

Are all the off the shelf visor inter changeable? I mean for eg. Can I buy a shoei visor n just put on it?

The best for daily commute like your travelling distance is DP bike with panniers. If 30k for deposit, few bike can be on the list rclxms.gif

Tell me which Ducati?

Ducati IMO is only great for sports bike model enthusiast. You will not settled down until you owned 1198 or the current 1199. Even with this, you will still wanna upgrade to S or tricolore cry.gif
